Audio-Technica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone

My experience with AT professional microphones, and conference systems at work influenced my decision to purchase an AT2020 for my hobby. I knew the phantom power requirements so was not offput by that requirement. The sound response is excellent on both lower frequencies (Bass) midtones and higher frequencies (Treble). Adding a RNNoise filter in OBS (to remove some ambient fan noise from a switch near my desk) was all that I needed to record crisp clear vocals. Response is excellent for both my masculine and my wife's feminine voice profiles. This mic is a solid choice.

This mic has lasted me over 8 years! It sounds great, and is very durable. it has gone through a number of moves and setup changes. each time it has taken it like a champ. the audio quality come out clear and smooth. picks up your voice easily and is sensitive enough to pick up those who are quiet. I would recommend this to anyone who is into voice acting, or casual podcasting.

The kit is great. It shipped fast. The only improvement I would make is to include an instruction manual for how the different products are supposed to fit together.

I've been using the AT2020 for 13 years now. I pair it with the Rodes NT1a, but the AT2020 is my go to mic. I love the warm and flat sound it gives. I patch it in to my Apollo Twin vocal chain. It sounds GREAT in post, makes it easy for mixing. I track all types of genre of vocalist from Neo Soul, R&B, Reggae, to Rap and Pop also a few Spoken Work/ Poetry projects were tracked using the AT2020 as well. I LOVE this microphone, especially for the low price.

Fantastic set for the price I paid! As a beginner voice actor who was looking to get a bit more serious about his work, I knew my first step was an XLR microphone and an interface, and this was just the bundle to go to! This set comes with a decent stand, two XLR cables (counting the one on the stand), the microphone (which arrived a bit after everything else, but still quickly), pop filter, and the interface which comes with the Studio One 5 DAW. One thing I like about the Presonus is how compact it is (about 6"x6" I think?), so it fits nicely on my desk. The AT2020 is absolutely living up to my expectations thus far - Audio-Technica has been my go-to since 2015, so I imagine I will continue to be pleased with this microphone. One thing to be aware of is that you are almost guaranteed not to get everything at once, but you WILL receive everything as-advertised. I highly recommend preparing your recording space before that. Overall, love this bundle!

I haven't tested it out yet, just an fyi. But i'm happy with everything so far except that they didnt include an adapter for the microphone to be held in the boom mic in mine. I came back here to realize that doesnt look like its apart of the kit. I just dont understand why they would sell a kit but leave out a part that actually males it all function.

I got this to mic a grand piano for our church live streaming. It looks nice and seems solid, and the sound recording was quite good for a single mic. Being a carotid pattern, it captured the piano without pulling in extraneous sounds from the congregation.

For the price, the equipment is very efficient minus the headphones, which stopped working after a few recording sessions. However, the rest of the kit is sustainable and easy to set up and use. The sound is very clear and the outside noise cancellation is reliable.

I was really surprised with the quality of the Mic, since the price was kind of cheap I was expecting the quality to be cheap also. But I’m really happy with the quality. You get your money’s worth and then some more. Highly recommend it.
