The sale price on from Adorama on these made me break down. I'd wanted a pair since I've heard them but the price difference made me think I'd try to be content with the LCD-2. The LCD-3 has a much better and more open sound than the LCD-2. I would have missed this every time I used the LCD-2. As others have said, excellent bass. The highs are superb with no sibilance or stident sounds. It may be less detailed than some want but they aren't fatiguing like other bright phones. The midrange is excellent. Male and female vocals sound great. The soundstage could be better, sometimes imaging isn't as good as some though I've never heard any phones that image like a good two-channel system. Headphones are so convenient though it let's me enjoy music more than I could otherwise. The height, depth, width and placement are engaging but not open and convincing. The rest of my review is for Adorama. They were excellent! Best price I've seen (I've been hunting). Their bundle included the hard case etc. which I've seen some dealers not include. They have many options in the finish for the LCD-2. I ordered the LCD-2 in Al and shedua wood to see if I could 'settle' for the LCD-2. I kept the LCD-3 and returned the LCD-2's. Adorama was fast with the return and have a satisfied customer. Best pricing, great service and an authorized dealer, thanks Adorama!

I bought these on a whim as part of a too-good-to-pass-up package deal. I didn't really need them as I have a similar model, the Audeze LCD2. However, the LCD3 really IS a step forward in the family. The pros are build quality and sound quality. The main concern area is simply the weight of these big honkers. I'm happy I got them and now have to wonder about the LCD4, the XC and other more recent models in the family. I just love the planar magnetic sound.

I was astounded at the package deal on offer from Adorama and jumped on this deal - a Micro DSD Black Label DAC/Amp, Audeze LCD3 headphones and an Astell&Kern AK100ii DAP for almost 40% off MSRP. Too good to pass up, and I really like all three items in the bundle.

This bundle contains 2 TOTL gears with great value. The iFi Pro iCAN has a rich features not found on other headphone amplifiers, it drives not only LCD-3, but every headphones on the market well with more than enough power reserved, its potential makes it an end-game amplifiers for many audiophile. Audeze LCD-3 is one of the best headphones in the audiophile world, it is a recognized TOTL headphones and has been used as reference in headphones comparison review. It is beautifully built and sound amazing on its own. Highly recommended.

Lush sounding great HP's that I really love. Worth "upgrading" the band to carbon fiber and if the ear pads or a bit warm the option of replacing the ear pads worked great for me. Still one of the best HP's on the market today!

The LCD-3 excels in every parameter but is easy to drive for most amps (some of which may have problems driving the LCD-4). Haven't compared but guess they are close to the quality of the LCD-4. These high resolution headphones will bring life to your music in realistic replication of the signal compared with a dynamic or lesser planar headphone. They deserve the best of sources, cabling, and amplification to use with them.

Excellent set of dream headphones!

The iFi micro iDSD Black Label is the newest iFi micro flagship product.
At the heart, beats the Burr-Brown DSD512/PCM768/2xDXD True Native® DAC with headphone amplifier.
The Black Label looks very good on the outside yet the inside is even better where relentless attention has been paid to advancing the sonics with the very latest components:
The micro iDSD Black Label. The best, evolved.
The High-Res heart remains – DSD512/PCM768/DXD2x The micro iDSD BL retains the unrivalled technical capabilities of its predecessor. This means it is capable of true native playback of all music formats from MP3 all the way up to 512DSD/768PCM/2xDXD.
Burr-Brown Chipset x 2 The Burr-Brown DAC chip used was one of the last chipsets from BB Japan (though it was introduced post-merger). This chipset was Burr-Brown’s ‘swansong’ and embodied all their converter technology. It is unrivalled in terms of subjective musicality and is a mainstay of the iFi line including the micro iDSD Black Label and is used in the upcoming showstopper, the Pro iDSD.
3D+® and XBass+® The latest iterations of 3D+ and XBass+ are appreciated technologies that further enhance the enjoyment of music. With a larger soundstage and deeper, tighter bass respectively, both are even more engaging and satisfying than ever.
Operationsverstärker iFi/AMR ‘OV’ series stands for ‘Operationsverstärker’ (German for Operational Amplifier). The ‘OV’ range IC’s use HCOFC copper lead-frames and 4N Gold bond-wire which are streets ahead of mainstream commercial chips that use inexpensive aluminum bond-wire, low-grade/low-cost copper in the lead-frames. It is seldom found because it requires the custom packaging of chips from wafers and has a very high MOQ (30,000 pcs per part and purchase) to do – a small insight into the parts used in the micro iDSD BL which are ‘above and beyond.’
Sanyo OSCONs are go Os-Cons, originally from Sanyo (now taken over by Panasonic), have been around for a good while. Among the larger value capacitors useful in power supplies, they hold a special place. They have been used in AMR components up to the revered CD-77 Reference Class CD Processor.
So, despite their steep cost (around 10x that of common electrolytic capacitors), the micro iDSD Black Label is one of the first <US$1,000 products to feature them.
Turbo-charge headphones There are three power output modes, Eco, Normal and Turbo. If used in conjunction with the built-in iEMatch, the micro iDSD BL is able to have the power and gain dialed-in to perfectly suit all headphones from the super-sensitive Sennheiser IE-800 up to the hyper-hungry HiFiMan HE-6.
Intelligent In/Out SPDIF Digital Optical/Coax Digital Audio Players (DAP) and home SPDIF sources are abound. Flexibility remains key and the micro iDSD BL retains the intelligent SPDIF in/out socket for optical/coax signals. So for those who wish to upgrade their DAP, simple use it as a transport and feed the micro iDSD Black Label.
Battery for music on-the-go From the very hungry HiFi Man HE-6 down to the Sennheiser IE-800, the micro iDSD Black Label is able to play hi-res out and about for 6 to 12 hours respectively. Even when not in use, it is able to charge an iPhone from 0% to 100% two times through its side USB charging port.
