Solid, light & Convenient Field Tripod
I purchased this to use as a portable alternative to my heavy but stable aluminum Manfrotto tripod. I intended to use it to mount a panoramic head and ultimately the Gigapan Epic Pro.
At first I was a little disappointed to see that there was a free bundled carbon fiber tripod (another brand) with the Gigapan epic pro, which I later bought. On comparison the Manfrotto is superior in every manner with the soul exception of a hook to add a counterweight.
The ball head is very good. I had not used a ball head before and was worried about how they would hold up with a heavy rig, but the Manfrotto is up to the task.

Very nice and adorama came thru with price match as well!
