I could not figure out how to use this tripod. The quality seems rugged enough and high quality, however, at the expense of ease of use. The quick release plate seems anything but quick. It does not come off without a bunch of wrangling. Other quick release mounts on basic cheapo tripods just take a second to put on or take off. This one must have taken me about 30+ seconds to get the camera mounted. The legs require a lot of time to extend. With the "clip" style legs on other tripods you can set up your shot a lot quicker. Maybe i'm just doing it all wrong, but this tripod is exceptionally hard to use. Seems like the basic $ tripod at Wal-mart gets the job done in half the time, albeit with a low quality "creaky" swivel head. Still, not nearly as frustrating as this thing. Also the carrying bag is a pain to use too. Its not even practical unless putting the tripod in long term storage like I did. This tripod came with a bunch of mystery pieces and screws and adapters and I have no idea what they are for. The instructions aren't even helpful. I give up!

I had a nice carbon fiber Dolica Tripod and actually sold it for this one. That tripod did everything well but it was tough for me to go hiking and use outdoors on trips. This gets the job done and is really easy to move around!

I bought this tripod to hold my iOptron SkyTracker Pro with my Nikon D5300 and 300mm lens. It does the job perfectly, and had no issues with the weight. The construction on this tripod is very nice - I've only owned a tripod with the "lock" type legs, so was a bit uncertain about the telescoping legs. I was very happy with these on this tripod, as they adjust smoothly and are actually much easier to manage. I found readjusting to level the tripod a lot smoother and simpler. The included ball head is a huge bonus!

This is the perfect tripod if you want something easy to carry, travel with or on-the-go. It's compact, lightweight and fits in carry-on luggage with ease. I primarily use this tripod for traveling, hiking, indoor sporting events and everyday walk around use. The twist lock legs take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you can actually tighten and loosen all four locks on each leg fairly quickly. They also include some hex wrenches in case you want to tighten or loosen the fold-out joint where the legs open up. Very sturdy with my mirrorless setup and there's a hook in case you want to add some weight to keep it stable as well. Very happy with my purchase!

Nice compact tripot but it's a little bit heavy.

I wanted to find a compact tripod with a ball head that could replace my old 80s-vintage Silk model for use on day hikes entailing fairly rugged terrain on- and off-trail. After much research, I came across the aluminum PrimaPhoto Big Travel Kit Tripod in at least one "top ten" review as a solid-yet-affordable choice (and PrimaPhoto tripods are apparently made by Manfrotto in order to test-market new designs). I was somewhat hesitant in that it had the twist-type locks rather than the flip locks I was accustomed to, but gave it a shot. As it turns out, I really do not miss the flip locks. I've been hauling the PrimaPhoto along on several recent hiking jaunts, and love how quickly it sets up - even if that means one or two of the legs are standing on rocks. It does come with an Arca-type plate, which I basically just leave on the camera. The ball head seems robust, and makes a world of difference compared to what I was used to. I haven't tried it in a very windy environment yet, but it has no trouble supporting a Nikon D7100 with a 70-300mm zoom. I've even used it indoors with a light tent in order to photograph my collection of craft beer bottles that my wife has ordered me to recycle. The tripod does come with a set of spike feet as an alternative, but I find the rubber feet to be convenient for most purposes. Very happy with the tripod!

The Big Travel Kit Tripod provides a great combination of quality materials, durable construction and big features with a minimal footprint. Great for any kind of camera to DSLR with large lenses, additionally also converts a leg into a monopod to provide you maximum versatility while on the shoot. A practical and comfortable bags is included in the box to easily carry your support everywhere.
