3 year review

I had these headphones for long enough to find everything I like a dislike Pros: the battery charge is crazy fast and lasts a long time. Can connect to 2 devices at a time and jump between the audio with out pushing any buttons. Very comfortable for long time on your head. Cons: Distance is almost unusable past a few feet, Chan here dropping of quality then it picks back up, don’t think the noise canceling will mute the world. un uncomfortable to put around your neck have trouble connecting to the right device when have multiple set up.have to choose between Voice assistance or a button to toggle how quiet which is a must. After 3 years of use the cushion is falling off Over all if you bought them you wouldn’t hate them but for price i would have gone with a different company if can do all over again

Good

I'm not sure if I'm the type of person who uses headphones too much but the headphones are starting to fall apart. One of the ears' tan coating (I have the white version) has become detached from the inside, showing the foam, which has also detached from the headphones. Also, the other ear has stopped working completely. I don't misuse my headphones or toss them around; maybe I just use it too much

Returned QC35 for QC25

The lady that keeps on talking looking for a bluetooth connection on the QC35 annoyed me greatly, brought it back and instead opted for a headphone that doesn't nag me to death. Love the ability to replace batteries, got several rechargeable AAAs. I noticed it would last me around 3-4 days. No downtime waiting for the headset to charge. If the more expensive models come with the ability to insert physical batteries, I would buy it. I can still take phone calls with the microphone cord so it is not a deal breaker. Noise cancellation is great, I survived an extremely noisy flight with this. Main issue is my husband started doing hand signals to get my attention as I absolutely cannot hear anybody's conversations.

Left Ear cone came apart again

This is my second pair of these headphones and this is the second time the padding around the ear has come apart. The black material covering the sponge has come loose.

Great product but.....

I got my QC25 as a Father’s Day gift, I travel every other week and the shortest flight is usually above 3 hours and my QC25 were the perfect companion....until one day the right side speaker went off, caput, finito, no more; sad story is when I approached customer service they offered me a replacement set at a higher price than the one you could buy in the market; seems this problem has been there for a while and was not property addressed by Bose, many unhappy customers by this defective product that you would expect higher quality level at this price.

No longer under warranty

I thought warranty is lifetime. I hardly use my q25. (2to3 times a month) Only when I travel in planes because of the noise cancelling feature. The ear cushions are deteriorating. It's been always in its case. I thought this product would last longer. Product no longer warranted.

Slowly stopped working after a few years

Within the last 4 months I owned these headphones, the left ear started to go out, then eventually the right side went out. You can tell it's the wiring internally. Bose states they can't fix because it's out of warranty. Not happy with the service or product.

Stoped working on right cup

My son has been saving up for over a year and when he got them he loved them. They were the best headset he has ever had they were super soft and light and beat any other headset on the market however Just recently the headset started making static noises on the right ear cup and just stoped working on the right side completely even the noise cancelling stoped working. We contacted Bose and there support and they didn’t care they did nothing about it. My son is devastated and is sad next time Bose won’t be our first choice. In the review I also put sound quality a 1 star because the sound only came out of one ear however when they both worked it was great.

No Sound from one side of the headphone

Been only a week since I bought this and I came across a strange problem - the sound plays only from one side. I googled if this is just me and turns out that many have faced this issue and this appears to be a manufacturing defect. Often the sound comes on its own when i move or when i adjust the cable again, but this is really irritating for the price you pay for this headphone. Not something that you would expect from BOSE. Disappointing. Better go for a wireless one (QC35) or so.

My priority is ANC and solid sound.

Getting ready to take a long plane ride, so glad I got these...I truly prefer the wire vs. wireless. Wonderful isolation...watched La La Land Christmas restaurant scene; mix of background, dialog and piano playing. In the room, a big floor fan is on full power and a small tv with cheap speakers is on loud. The movie sound played so well and isolation seriously dampened but not completely eliminated sound. Also tried music, "Clean up woman, and guitars and base were clear. Sound could be brighter and bass, heavier, but it's pretty darn good for what I paid.

Worked great for 1.4 years

Guess what the warrantee is? A year. They are a really great technology and product - and perform well - but just past warrantee the left ear went bad (It echoes with a weird metallic screech) when noise cancelling is on (the whole point). So no longevity and now they want $135 to fix/replace. No thanks...

Oh them phones....?

Bought them in September last year (2017) and I was never told to insert the battery by the sales person and being an older person myself I only discovered it today (I know I am a bit slow??) I was thinking that the h.ph. had had it until I inserted the battery, WOW what a difference. Great stuff mate!!

Amazing sound

I bought this QC25 late 2017 and I've taken them over a dozen flights. They cancel airplane noise very well. The sound quality is great. They work great in the noisy office too. After this years the ear pads got damaged something that did not happened with the Audiotechnica that are lower quality.

Best Noise Cancelling

I've had these for 2 years now and I've taken them on probably a dozen flights. They cancel airplane noise so well it's kind of spooky. As for music, the sound quality is not as good as the high-end cans I use with my home HiFi, but believe me, combined with the top-notch noise cancelling, you can do no better on an airplane. These are just freaky good! I just lent them to a friend for his trip across the country and now he has to have a pair too. When you try them at home, you'll be surprised how well they work. When you try them on a plane, you won't believe it!

Comfort

I bought the headset 3 weeks ago and I feel a bad pain on my ears and battery can't withstand for more than a week, not that great product to go for.

bad quality

I bought them in a store, because I needed good earphones for my frequent travelling. The sound isn't great, but it is good with the noise cancelling turned on. They are comfortable, but the leather cushioms are not pleasant. I had thees for about 4 years and then the right speaker stopped working. I first thought this was bad luck, but it turns out to be common problem with the sound drivers. I contacted support and was advised to buy new ones. Taking into consideration the price tag I would say the durability is pretty bad. I have old Sennheiser, Technics and Sony , as old as even 30 years and they all still work! Shame Bose!

Good so far...

These are my first pair of Bose brand noise cancelling headphones. Super comfy, the noise cancelling is great. The alkaline battery included with the headphones didn’t last long, so I’m using AAA lithium batteries which last longer. The sound quality is great. On road trips they work well silencing road noise. Overall very happy.

One Side Failed - Zero Support

It seems to be a generic problem that one side of these fails - my QC15s did not suffer from this so I bought these for my son. BIG MISTAKE. To rub salt into the wounds Bose Support in my area will not look at them without a receipt or serial number - neither of which I have to hand (label detatched) despite looking at them it is clear they are the genuine item. Moral - if you have already bought these keep all the paperwork to help with repairs when (not if) yours breaks. If you have not bought them - don't - Bang and Olufson seem to offer similar items at similar prices.

Outstanding Sound, Noise Cancellation, Comfort

I admit a few years ago, I had some issues with these headphones. Mine had some issues and I was past my warranty, but they really seem to have gotten better. Got this for about one-third the cost of the QC35II, and love them. Besides the superb sound and comfort, and the excellent noise cancellation, I like the fact they are wired....no drop outs, solid consistent sound, and I am not a clumsy person, so wires are fine with me. Second, I hate rechargeable stuff, so the easy-to-use, longer-lasting AAA battery is superior to the rechargeable in the QC35 that gets only 20 hours per charge, then deteriorates. These have sound that is perfect, and these don't take much power from my iPod and iMac when I listen to music. Bose service is great too. I have several Bose products and none of them have failed me. If I had extra money, I'd get a second pair as the new ones don't have these features.

Not working after a year

I bought a pair of Quiet Comfort 25 headphones last year and enjoyed them for about 12 months of light use. I was extremely careful with them, stored them in the case, turned them off after each use and kept did not let them get bumped around. However this week the noise-canceling components stopped working. The green light does not turn on (even with a change of batteries). They now function as normal headphones. Frankly, this is disappointing given the reputation of Bose; my long track record of being a satisfied Bose customers compelled me to write a review. I hope Bose can work to improve the product or offer to upgrade the components. Thank you, Blake

Awesome product!

Bought this in May 2016. After several months it broke so I returned them and received a brand new product. Since then, no issues at all. use it all the time in the library while studying. A MUST-HAVE item!

Expected more from BOSE

Love this headset with all its features and noise cancelling quality. However, I expected better sound quality. Really wanted to give it 5 stars.

Short Lifespan

When I first purchased these, I loved them and my expectation was Bose has a quality product that will last 5 to 10 years. I was wrong, mine lasted 3.5 years. Right speaker failed. Never been wet, always kept in the case, only wear them when I fly. I would not buy this brand of head phones again. Let's hope the factory upgraded Bose speakers in my truck last more than 3.5 years.

Headphones ok but build quality needs to improve

We now have 2 of these (bought 2 years apart) and, just like the first one, the ear cushion covers of the second one have popped open right on the 13th month! Bose sent replacements for the first one when that happened but still no response for the second one. Should I have learned?

Brilliant

Great sound very comfortable and great noise cancelling. Apple version works fine with my Samsung, apart from the buttons on the lead, never had them so I won’t miss them, the right lead costs twenty quid.

Sound

These headphones have a soft sound which is fine because the quality is great but if you like your base to be more present then these are not for you but the music is layered which is really nice and you can he every piece of the song well and it mixes well.

4 Stars, good sound and good noise cancellation

I used to listen music using VLC with equalizer settings at Full Bass. Bought the QC25 from Bose directly, have been using it for 3 weeks now. When I received the Bose QC25 with above settings and Noise Cancellation Off, the sound quality was very average. When I switched on the Noise Cancellation, the sound quality improved and was near very good (but not very good). Disappointed with this I walked to a local store to see how sound quality compares with other demo headphones there. With the same settings, compared it with Sony 1000MX3 and Bose QC35 (all comparison with noise cancellation on and in-store condition). The sound quality on Bose QC35 was slightly better however, the Sony 1000MX3 far surpassed both Bose QC25 and 35 in terms of sound quality. This further added to my disappointment. Keeping in view this sound quality, I was thinking to return it. However, I did some more search on how to improve the sound quality and I came across some apps like Muiscolet, N7Player etc, I tried these but not with any significant improvement. In my last effort to improve sound quality, I searched the Bose website for how to improve sound quality, and I came across the following: 'Many portable audio devices have a bass-boost switch to electronically alter audio signals sent to the headphone jack. Your headphones have patented technology that reproduces a full range of sound, so there's no need to use a bass-boost feature or other tone controls. For the best audio performance, disable bass boost on your portable audio device. Leaving bass boost on may result in exaggerated bass and potential distortion'. I changed my VLC settings to normal/flat and the sound quality improved to good (with Noise cancellation switched off) and to very good (with Noise cancellation switched on). Try this if you are finding sound quality no good. Coming to the Noise cancellation. I travel by bus to my office and use headphones mainly during my this commute. With the headphones on ears (No music and Noise Cancellation Switched off) the headphones were able to cancel about 50 to 60% of the noise. Now, when I switch on the music (Noise cancellation swicthed off) the headphones were able to cancel out about 70% of the noise. With the music on and Noise cancellation switched on, the headphones cancelled about 85% of the noise. The effectiveness of noise cancellation also depends on how much noise the engine is making, in some buses it performs much better while others it does not. Let me mention here that the headphones cancel out only constant noises like the engine noise of the bus, I am able to hear the announcements although at subdued volumes, which means that if you want to use these in office you will be able to hear your colleagues speaking especially if they are talking loudly. Between the QC25 and Sony 1000MX3, I found the sound quality far better on Sony 1000MX3 and also noise cancellation more effective on Sony 100XM3 under the in-store conditions (however the price difference must be kept in mind). Cons: AAA battery is required, so be prepared to shell out extra. The headphones play music without battery, but as I said earlier, the sound quality without the noise cancellation switched on is very average, so, if you need good sound quality you need a battery in it. Another con I find is that sometimes the headband starts pressing against the head after some time which makes it uncomfortable, tried to set it but no help. Keeping the price point Cyber Monday deal, I would give it 4 stars. Sound quality also depends on personal taste, so better visit a store and try it yourself before you buy. Leave a comment if you have any questions.
