A Great Purchase
Easy mount on camera, easy to use and excellent sharp focus images obtained. A typically excellent product from Canon.

Huge improvement over the IS lens!
I bought this lens slightly used off someone, figuring it would be an upgrade over my my IS lens, and wow was I ever surprised!
If you use it for video, you will like the fact that it focuses quietly, and no matter what you use it for, the STM lens focuses rather quickly which makes it great for getting the quick shot off.
The IS lens had somewhat noticeable distortion and color loss on the sides, especially the corners, but this is not the case with the STM lens. The image is as sharp on the corners as it is in the middle, and the image is quite sharp.
The downsides about this lens is that it has a somewhat limited range, but it is also small and lightweight. I use it in combination it the 55-250 STM lens for more zoom.
