Buy this filter if you want to shoot IR

For a really interesting effect, use this filter when shooting in solarization color mode. But most importantly, make sure your digital camera can take photos in infrared.

Not as easy as place and shoot

If you think this is as easy as placing the filter on your lens and shooting, you would be WRONG! You must use a tripod for a long exposure time and learn how to use this filter. While there is nothing wrong with the filter (the filter is deep red, not grey), you need to do some homework. The problem is that most of the Cokin filters are as simple as placing it on your lens and shooting. With this filter, you will also need to manipulate the image in something like Photoshop. On the PRO side, if you can not convert your DSLR into a dedicated IR camera, then this is a good alternative as long as you learn to use it...
