Great EP , love the fov and the eye relief . My favorite in the Luminos series. Saturn was floating looking tack sharp with first light . Impressed!

I have several nice eyepieces. This Luminos 15mm give bright crisp views and the field of view is incredible. FOV is comparable to a 25mm at 65 degree. Will end up with more of this line.

The eyepiece works great. The eyepiece provides clarity, and a wide field of view that makes viewing feel like an immersion experience. Adorama provided excellent service at a competitive price.

Solid eyepiece as in good views. Solid eyepiece as in heavy weight. The 82 degree view is very nice. Feels like looking out of a picture window. Used with an OG C8 and an f6.6 refractor that are both fairly forgiving so I can't comment on any abberations that might come with faster scopes, but I didn't notice any in moon or star views. No easy planets to check out for me at this time. Very sharp image until extreme edges. Weighs a good bit so it did make my refractor focus lock do work.

This unit is solid!! It is a well made and reliable unit. It can also hold 2? as well as 1.25? eyepieces. The only draw back (but not really a con) is that the unit is slightly heavier than the X-Cel 1.25? Barlow making the tail of your image train slightly heavier and something that you need to ensure you plan and prepare for with a proper balance.

High quality glass!! Well built and sturdy! It does take a few minutes to get acclimated to this lens and find your proper eye relief. Once accomplished, images are well defined, sharp and clear! 31mm lens is quite big and heavy, so have the proper diagonal to accommodate it!

The wide field of view is great but the eye relief takes some getting used to.

I purchased the Luminos 31mm and 10mm. I am quite pleased with them. I know the brand doesn't get high grades, but I like them. Adorama got them to me quickly too.

Great eyepiece, the clarity far surpassed the Plossl eyepiece that comes with the Celestron Telescope.

I?ve had the 31mm for over a year. It delivers fantastic views in my 12? F6 dobsonian. As everyone who has one knows, this eyepiece is huge. Definitely overbuilt, but Celestron hit it out of the park with this one. For $280, it?s more than half the price off of the ?premium? competitors. The Luminos is Celestron?s premium line of eyepieces, and considered the best bang for the buck (similar to Meade?s UWAs). The sky is literally full of stars with the 31mm, especially at a dark site. I enjoy sweeping around just to look for anything that?s interesting. I?m not crazy about the 19mm due to the EOFB, but this 31mm is a bit better corrected which makes a noticeable difference. For high power planetary work, the 7mm performs well enough to observe Saturn?s Encke gap in detail. I?m saving up for the 10mm.

Excellent service from Adorama! Quality Celestron luminos barlow lens produces nice crisp magnified and bright images. Great barlow for the price. Sturdy and works with both 1.25 and 2 inch eyepieces. Love it!

I really like this eyepiece. I have a Televue 31mm Panoptic also but find myself using this more than any of the others. Very nice. It is huge though.

Aberrations are well corrected from center to corner even with fast newtonian reflectors (f/5). With f/4 the corner will suffer aberations.

Awesome Barlow Lens for my refractor telescope

I like it, it gives excellent, crisp views. I really like the retractable eye cups. It is a little bit on the heavy side. When used on my small 8" dob mount scope (a mount that is very sensitive for smooth movement) I have to add some counterweight to the business end to maintain balance. That is not an issue with my big heavy, sticky 13.1" dob scope, wind hardly registers on that scope. I have yet to try it on my 10" equatorial mounted Schmidt Newtonian I would recommend this eyepiece, just be ready for the weight.

I purchased the Celestron Luminos 2.5x, 2" Barlow Lens to extend the focal length of a 10" Newtonian telescope for astrophotography. I have also use it for visual observation with long eye relief lenses to give me higher magnification with long eye relief. I am quite happy with the lens quality and the assembly construction. I'll be looking at Celestron Luminos products in the future.

Big View Eyepiece
By MIKE R.
The Celestron Luminos 10mm, 1.25 is a powerful, big view eyepiece. Coupled with my Explore Scientific Dobson 12" f5 telescope it's like you are in orbit around the moon. Mountains, craters, cool lava fields and all features are clearly visible. The image is sharp all across the huge 84 degree field of view. At 155x, though the viewing circle is huge, only about one quarter of the moon may be seen without scanning. Of the minimal distortion, most of it by far originates in the Earth's atmo...

The Luminos series eyepieces offer a wide 82 deg.field of view in both high power and low power models, allowing you to make the most of your telescope, whether you own a short, fast refractor or a Celestron EdgeHD telescope. The optical set consists of six or seven elements (depending on the model) and is fully multi-coated for crisp, sharp views. All six Luminos eyepieces are parfocal, which means you can switch out eyepieces during observing sessions with little or no additional focusing required.
The Luminos eyepiece body is made of polished and anodized aluminum. A rubber grip runs around the equator of the eyepiece, giving you a secure grip and an easy method for raising and lowering the retractable eyecup. Simply twist the rubber grip to adjust the height of the eyecup. The insert barrel is threaded to accept filters.
