I love this film. It suits my style very well with nice contrast and shadow detail and an overall smooth grain and tonality. This is one of a few black and white films that I use regularly and the price is very reasonable as well.

A bit more grain then I thought but the price is good. The photos came out nice on a whole. While I would not choose as an everyday film, I can definitely see using it on special occasions. Certainly one that I would use for testing and general photos.

Great film, I'm quite happy with it. As an amateur, I can't justify spending $10 per roll on some of the more expensive film stocks. Fomapan does me just fine!

Still shooting this roll now, but was exactly as stated.

I've only shot a single roll so far at box speed and that was enough to sell me. I went a little aggressive with my agitating during development, which is why I think you can see the sprocket hole shadows in some of the images. Currently pushing a roll 4 stops to 3200 to see how it does. Will definitely be buying more of this filmstock!

You?ve heard people say before that Tom?s is inconsistent...poor contrast...dated grain and lacking quality. I say you?re all crazy! This stuff is amazing and the price isn?t even the main reason. If you want a film stock with character, depth, richness, versatility and it?s own voice then Fomapan 200 is for you. I?ve shot about 5 rolls prior to buying bulk and I?m already 5 rolls worth in with outstanding results.

I'd rate this at 4-stars if you like that "soft" look, not too contrasty at all. And you simply cannot beat the price!

I've been looking for a substitute for the late Kodak Plus-X, and this film comes close. I expose it at an EI of 125 and process it in either 1:50 Rodinal/Adonal or 1:1 D76. The tonality is very nice and grain is reasonably fine. For the price, it gives a high level of performance.

This is kind of quirky film. It tends to develop a bit thin and soft, and it is vulnerable to heat and humidity--some rolls I shot in the tropics did not survive very well. However, it does have a wonderful atmospheric quality, and if you want a dreamy or gritty look, it may be for you. I've had good results developing it with Diafine or with Fomadon Excel. I'd say its worth experimenting with, but you shouldn't rely on it for the photo of a lifetime. Good for portraits and street photography.
