Great Adapter for just what I needed.

Exactly what I needed to continue to use my old Dell Monitor. I have an old Dell E228WFP Monitor with DVI out. Recently upgraded to a new PC and no DVI input on the board or graphics card I had. I needed an adapter and this one works great.

Waiting to buy new monitor

I'm a Photoshop user and didn't want to purchase a new monitor for my new computer at this point...would prefer to wait & see what the monitor manufacturers release later this year or early next year. In the meantime, this adapter works very well with my older 1920x1080p resolution 22" monitor.

Exactly what the description and photos tell you. DisplayPort to DVI Single Link. The DVI end is DVI-D digital.

DisplayPort is my preferred method; however, my monitors (BENQ RL2455HM) only have HDMI, DVI-D, and VGA hookups. I achieve best performance and reliability when using DVI-D. Since I use external speakers, there is absolutely no reason to use HDMI cables. Since switching from HDMI to DVI-D, I have not had any errors or communication stumbles between the dedicated performance graphics cards and monitors. My uses are design rendering, gaming, and everyday computing. This item is a DisplayPort to DVI-D adapter. Before purchasing... 1. understand the difference between DisplayPort and HDMI. 2. understand the difference between DVI-D, DVI-I, and DVI-A. 3. look at the photos and read the description from Dell.

DELL P/n DANARBC084

We bought three new OptiPlex 7010's with this adapter on them It is NOT usable with out buying ANOTHER adapter to go from This PARTICULAR dvi to vga adapter because it is NOT compatible with all my other dvi to vga adapters. it is missing the holes adjacent to the slotted pin. So now I have to go out and buy an adapter that doesn't have the 4 pins in that location A waste of time and resources
