Quality of FARPOINT is Superb!!!
Very well made and in the USA. You might have to get the right size screw, I had to trim mine down. This is because not all C8's and other 8" SCT's are made exactly the same. But the end result is very nice and I'm very happy to have bought a FARPOINT. Quality is superb!!
Safely attach telescope optical tubes and accessories with Farpoint Vixen Dovetail Plate - Armored Strip - Celestron 8" SCT.
Machined of sturdy aluminum with a black anodized finish, this Vixen style dovetail bar is just like the regular version of our Vixen dovetail bar, but with the addition of a stainless steel armored strip. Many Vixen size saddles and/or accessories use a set screw to clamp the accessory in place on the dovetail bar. This mars the dovetail and pits the edge, which eventually leads to slop in the system as the set screw wanders in the various old grooves that have been cut into the dovetail. The Farpoint Armored Strip version of the dovetail bar eliminates this problem.
The armored strip is not necessary if you use only Farpoint style saddles with a clamping bar (instead of a set screw). Includes radius blocks and mounting screws.
Compatible with Celestron 8" Optical Tube Assembly.
