I got one of these when they showed up on Slick Deals for a really great price. The Celestion Greenbacks aren't really fully broken in yet but the amp already sounds great. It's got a very spongy feel and breaks up sooner than my 65 Reissue series amps. This amp has a higher noise floor than my 65s, too. I don't know nothing from nothing when it comes to amp engineering, but I've read that it has something to do with these amps having a reduced "negative feedback", whatever that is. At any rate you won't notice if you're playing in a band or even if you're jamming at home, but if you're planning on recording you might want to look for a quieter amp. My unit had some reverb feedback when you turn the reverb up past 5 or 6. I solved this by flipping the reverb tank and putting a little bit of foam under it. Problem seems to have been solved. The amp (like most all Fender tube amps) was biased pretty cold from the factory. I rebiased it to something a little hotter based on the tube specs and the amp really came to life. This is a great amp, despite the issues listed above. At the sale price I have no regrets whatsoever.

I've always loved Princeton Reverbs, especially for the bias tremolo. The 68 Custom Vibrolux has the same or very similar circuit. The overall tone is very close as well, with just a bit less mid scoop. It's got all the headroom I'll ever need.

This 35-watt tonal weapon is locked, loaded and readyto rock! This '68 Custom Vibrolux Reverb amp in Gunmetal Gray covering and Silver/Turquoise grille cloth honors the classic look sound of that era's amps but with some great tonal modifications for the gigging musician and/or pedal freak. The moderately powered Vibrolux Reverb has one Vintage channel for traditional silver face tone, one Custom channel with a Baseman tone stack, reverb and tremolo on both channels, and reduced negative feedback for greater touch sensitivity and quicker breakup!
Gunmetal Gray covering and two 10" 8-ohm Celestion GreenbackG10 speakers for classic English grunt and warm breakup when pushed. Also includes a "Limited Edition" badge. Dual 6L6 output tubes, four 12AX7 preamp tubes, two 12AT7 tubes, dual channels (vintage and custom),tube-driven Fender reverb, tube vibrato, two-button footswitch for reverb and vibrato on-off.
