Focal approached Tournaire jewellers to come up with a design for a truly exceptional pair of headphones, a unique work of art.

Tournaire jewellers have been renowned for many years for their symbolic and atypical designs. Focal and Tournaire share the same values, which include excellence and uniqueness. Very High-End Headphones
Very high-end Utopia headphones were launched by Focal in June 2016. Their exceptionality (designed and manufactured in France, and featuring exclusive Focal technologies, a sleek design and high-end materials) soon made them a reference on the global audiophile headphones market.

The design of these exceptional headphones was customised by the jeweller. The result is a unique product with new aesthetics designed and crafted by father and son, Philippe and Mathieu Tournaire. It bears the mark of the Triology, the symbol of Tournaire jewellers which represents the evolution of life.

Customised With Jewels
This universal symbol links the past, the present, and the future, represented respectively by the raw square, the triangle and the circle of abundance. The Trilogy is made of 18-karat gold mounted with a total of 6.5 carats of diamonds, entirely hand-crafted in the Tournaire workshops.

This craftsman jewellery and work of art required more than a years work, making these headphones the most prestigious - and probably the most expensive - in the world: Utopia by Tournaire. The product was presented in September 2016 at the Tournaire boutique in Paris.

Acoustic Transparency and Easy Customisation
The cable supplied with Utopia was specifically selected for its capability to respect the original audio signal, such as its very low impedance (< 90 mOhm/metre). It is totally symmetrical in order to offer extremely low crosstalk (< 70 picofarads). The shielding protects it from electromagnetic interference and allows for a longer cable (3m/9 ft.). Finally, the 9.5mm Lemo connector and the 6.35mm Neutrik stereo jack enable easy customisation.
