I got this for my 14th b - day and have gotten very heavy use out of it. It charges my phone all day long and does not stop for anything! It did have a short in the included cord but Goal Zero quickly fixed the problem and sent me a fixed cord. Great customer service!

I used this kit to charge camera batteries, and GoPro on a remote whitewater kayak expedition in Northern Manitoba last fall. We were in a remote part of the Nelson River between Lake Winnipeg and Hudson's bay. We didn't see anyone else for 10 days and I was able to use this kit to easily power camera batteries and Gopro through out the trip. I was never short of charged batteries and shot photos most of the day, each day. Over 3000 images in total, and hours of Gopro video. We didn't need it but I would have been able to use this kit to power our team's InReach Sat phone if that had been needed, but it wasn't. Every time it was sunny I would pop the panels out and use the small clips provided to position it securely. Then just leave it. There was always enough power in the power unit. They were rugged enough I could set it up on wet ground and not worry if there was a sudden rain shower. I really wasn't sure what to expect from such a small set up when I received it but I was SO impressed by how much charge it packs. Not the cheapest system out there, but the rugged build makes it worthwhile for me.

With a 5 LED charge, it charged my Samsung S 6+ from 45%-100% in an hour or so, but drained charged battery down to a 2 LED charge. I'm SURE IT will not charge a tablet, or 3 I phones. But I really like the design.

I bought this to recharge my phone while backpacking. Solar panel fully charged the battery in 2.5 days lying flat in the sun. I charged my phone (2800mah battery) about 2.5X for about 7000 mah usable. Next I will try charging hanging on my pack. Battery stays fully charged at least 1 week (only tested 1 week so far). Love the attached cable. Appears waterproof for at least rain.

I bought this for my daughter, she wanted something to change her phone and laptop if the power goes out. I have been using my Goalzeroom systems for 5 years and love the free power.

I've bought this kit from Campsaver.. Before I've took it outside, it was perfect, and than... I've bought this kit for outdoor activities like everyone else.. I went on Aconcagua peak climb and took this toy for a first and real test. Harsh conditions, hot and cold weather, wind, everything! Pros: it will charge your battery, battery will charge everything you could need outside, including your cameras, phones, headlamps, gps and everything else! It takes some time to fully charge venture 30 with this solar panel, but it is worth of waiting! After all, it does have 7800mAH! On the first look, everything is nicely packed, promising in every possible way. First bad thing: Battery is charging awfully slowly when out on a cold. Second really bad thing: USB cord has some issues! Micro USB part is loosing it's contact and it has not been used more than 10 times! I've tried with some standard micro USB cables and it works just fine! Worst thing about this cable is the fact that there is no new cable to buy, and without it, whole this battery is not complete! GoalZero, do something about this cable!

The venture 30 holds enough charge to give me about 3 charges of my cellphone. When I go outdoors or when I'm travelling I have the peace of mind of knowing that my phone won't die. If possible I use the Nomad 7 to charge my phone directly so I don't need to pull from the battery during the day. And then I can use the rest of the afternoon to charge the battery itself (if it even needs it). This is a great product combination.

First off let me say this was much smaller than I anticipated, and at first I was a little wary that it wouldn't do what I needed. But the little guy went way beyond my expectations. First I took it to on a full charge Bonnaroo, and stored in my camelback bag with solar panels carabeened on the outside. Everyone else there was spending hours by the few solar stations around the farm, while my friends and I rotated out our three phones while mobile! Being able to charge two things at once was especially amazing. Definitely more power than some of the dinky backpacks with built-in solar panels. Then for the real test I took the to Madagascar, where I was living off the grid for a month. There (in addition to two power packs for laptops) I used it to charge up my phone every few days (wasn't using a ton of charge as no data, so only photos, translation app, and few phone calls). I also charged up my glow poi and kindle. Overall the venture held up in the mud and the rain, and I adored it! Back in the paved world, I was using it in my purse as a back-up cell phone charge when I was out all, and despite all its durability my 1 year old labrador managed to chew it up through the wires, opening up the main body. It was destroyed. I was devastated, but venture was soo good, I will happily buy another.

I bought the Venture 30 kit in preparation for my first trip to The Boundary Waters National Park, I wanted to have enought energy backup to recharge my electronics. I am extremely pleased with the results, I kept the Venture 30 to be used during cloudy days, the solar panel was great enough to charge 2 GoPro batteries and my Delorme Explorer GPS in a sunny day. I used the Venture 30 recharge my GoPro batteries and my Canon DSLR batteries when needed. The total trip was 8 days canoeing and camping.

This is something I use every day. With my line of work is the most convenient way of recharging my cell phone. It has multiple ports for recharging more than one item at a time, I really love that feature. I did have a problem with the cable, But customer service took care of it real quick and sent me a new cable within days! Thank you again.

Took on a trip fishing in AK. Charged my iPhone 6 plus faster than expected. Battery pack also charges faster than package claims in full sunlight! Great product. Never ran out of juice. Will never travel/camp without it.

This unit charges during the day then charges my IPad and IPhone at night. Planning on using at the Experimental Aircraft fly-in in Oshkosh WI this year. I use the IPad as backup navigation and traffic avoidance. The battery pack insures I will never run out of power.

I received my Venture 30 just days before my son and I departed for a weeklong Boy Scout summer camp at Camp Alexander near Colorado Springs. The Venture 30 was recharging my phone and three other adults all week long. I couldn't have asked for better performance!

I normally don't write reviews, but I've been so pleased with this unit I figured I owe it to Goal Zero. Went out on a limb with this purchase, since its a relatively new product with not very many reviews.....however this solar kit really seems to do exactly what I wanted it to. I was looking for a battery capable of charging my phablet (samsung galaxy note) more than once...so when I initially got this unit I put it to the test. I made sure the battery was fully charged, and then managed to charge up my phone from 2% to 100% two separate times. I didn't time it, but in both cases it took 1 - 1.5 hours to go from empty to full. So I would guess a regular sized smartphone (iphone 5) could probably get three full charges. I'm also impressed with how quickly the solar panel can directly charge my phone....a good hour of strong sunlight seems to add 40-50% to my phone battery, connected directly to the solar panel. In my experience so far, it seems to take 8-9 hours of a sunny day to get the solar pack to charge from 0 to 100, which is fine with me. Also - I think the peak solar hours (10-3ish) are really when you get the most bang for your buck from the sun (obviously). So overall, a great travel/every day companion for small to medium sized electronics. I love the extra pluses like a built in LED light to the battery pack, and different charging algorithms to optimize charging speed. This is the first Goal Zero product I've bought, but they've made it on to my "quality brand" list.

Just got it and it has already saved me. Used it for travel without the solar panel and was able to charge phone from 10% to 80% in 2 hours while using phone navigation. Still had 2 bars left when done. This is its first run so we will see if it lasts.

I have charged my cell phone, gopro and portable speaker several times with the Venture 30 battery. It really does hold a lot of power supply. I am disappointed with the solar charging of the Venture 30. I have tried to recharge the Venture 30 with the Nomad 7 two times and on both occasions only seen meager results. The first time I left the unit and charger on my deck in the sun for 6 hours to find that it had only recharged 2 blue lights or 40%. The second time I had it on the back of my bike for 3 to 4 hours and it only charged 10%. After rereading the manual it states that the Nomad 7 can take up to 16 hours to fully charge the Venture 30. Perhaps a larger solar panel would be more useful as a kit.

I bought this product as a gift for my son, who is a camper so he would be able to charge his phone while he is on a camping trip. I know he is very excited to give it a try as he leaves the end of this month to camp in Tennessee.

Within two days of my purchase my kit saved my butt. Maybe it was my imagination but I'd swear it charged my phone, GPS and tablet far faster than advertised. Or maybe I was just lucky. Either way, it's everything I expected and more. Compact, light, easy to use and does the job! LOVE IT!!!!
