Heliopan 52mm KR 3 (81C) Warming Filter

An 81A filter is worth having when you shot digital Leica. Every time I got a new Leica lens, I would get a UV filter to protect them. This filter is not that expensive, and it works the same as a UV filter, plus it provides a warmer color. I like the build quality of this filter.

This is a fine filter for combating actinic light on film cameras. I have a KR 1.5 or 81B warming filter, but for Hawaii and other islands where there is blue light from the sky and blue light from the water, one needs to counter the blue in order to render the greens as green instead of bluish. This filter allows me to do this. Of course the Schott glass is of super high quality and the brass ring makes this a real winner in the filter world. This is my 14th Heliopan filter of various sizes and types.

Not only does this produce beautiful, warm images, it is thin enough to mount on a Leica 39mm lens and still allow for the many Leica hoods to fit tightly--something the B&W filters don't always accommodate. Highly recommend, especially for Leica lenses.
