I've had this for about a year, with intermittent use. I have had absolutely no problems. It is fast, compact and reliable. The OCR works far better than expected. I originally got it for a project that fell through. I was thinking of returning it but it performed so well that I kept it for personal use.

I have had this scanner for 3 years now and until today have never had an issue with it. It is much faster than ones I have used previously. I love that the duplex just as fast as single sided. I had to uninstall and reinstall today and the front feed button no longer works since doing that but still I have no complaints. I believe the problem is storm related.

I've had this item over two years and about to buy the wireless. The speed of scanning my document has saved me time. This can scan cards, id's and pictures, which help tremendously.

Had this scanner for over a year now, and have had no problems or issues with it at all. The hardware design is great: when it's closed up it's protected from dust or foreign object from falling inside. The software is.. ok. It does the job, but would be nice if you could have a drop down history of 'save to' locations longer than 4 items. We regularly save to 6 locations on the server and find it tedious to have to re-type or re-browse to each location. No complaints per se, just a little friendly feedback.

As a mobile notary, I needed something that could scan quickly and this machine is excellent at scanning. I can scan 200 pages in around 6 minutes.

I have owned for about 2 years. It will NOT scan when I push the scan button. It just stopped working. I had to delete and add the scanner back. Still having problems with scanner.

I have been using my Epson ES-400 scanner in my home office for several years. I recently closed my home office and moved my scanner with me to my new job. It is the best piece of office equipment I have ever bought.

I have enjoyed a similar one at work of another brand, but was more expense. This is a third of the price and does the same exact thing and very compact! I love it! I use it to keep all my file remote instead of a file cabinet filled of papers. My only downside to these scanners, is when they think there is an error of a double scan. So if you want to tape two or more receipts to one paper, or carbon copy is scanned, it thinks there is an error of duplicated accidental scan. This is not the case, this also happened on the more expense brand at work. It is worth every penny. I have scanned over 500+ sheets and have had it for a year, going strong! My only suggestion is when scanning receipts, to make sure the sides align close the receipts, if not it will bunch of in the rollers. I expect this to last a long time. I have had an Epson printer that lasted forever, but upon being so out dated, I upgraded. Epson is a wonderful brand I have not had any issues with.

I've had this little workhorse for at least a couple of years. Easy to set up, takes up very little desk space and it's worked flawlessly. I'd buy one again in a heartbeat.

This scanner is definitely a good one. It is high-quality and compact; it was also very easy to set up and use. It works very well for our small office! There are only two things that I would change. First, I am not able to have anything taped to the back of a document: if something is, it will not go through because it detects a double-feed. (It is sometimes nice to retain original, handwritten notes.) Second, the scanning software had a small quirk. When deleting unnecessary pages, the program takes you back to the first scanned page after clicking the delete button, rather than keeping its place in the document and allowing you to make a new selection. This is just a bit frustrating when there are a few hundred pages.

I purchased my Workforce ES-400 over a year ago and i am generally pleased with it. It is easy to operate once you get the hang of it. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired and never quite answers my questions. Support quickly responded to my questions and assisted in solving the few problems I have had. Biggest limitation is its capacity. I do a lot of 150-175 page scans for uploading documents and have to divide them up into 50 page parts and upload each part. Occasionally the ES-400 just stops working. So far following instructions from support and rebooting solved problem

Bought two months ago, does exactly as advertised. Would have given five stars except it had stopped working, tried to download free updates but was convinced online to purchase new programming that we later discovered was the exact same that came with the machine. Epson refused to reimburse the purchase, so we're stuck with a duplicate program we don't need and out the cost as well.

I've had this scanner/product for months now and have put a lot of paper through it. However, from time to time, the wheels make a noticeable squealing noise that I have yet to determine how to solve. This issue pops up from time to time, and is not constant, though it is odd. Maybe it is the throughput? Or, well, maybe there is a better way to design the auto-feed mechanism. I don't know. Generally, though, I have been quite satisfied with it. I like this scanner and it fulfills the purpose I got it for. As such, I will not hold this against the rating. :-)

Very good scanner but they are advertising a scan to email feature that is non existent. I had to return it because scan to email was not there. They failed to mention that you can only scan to email if you have outlook express, Microsoft Live mail, and other mail systems that no longer exist.

I purchased this scanner several months ago and it has saved me time and money. I can make copies of receipts and many important documents and store them on a digital file. I cleaned out my filing cabinet. I am very happy with this scanner.

I brought a scan separated from the 3 in 1 printers because when the ink in the printer is out the printer scanner stops working. I own three other printers that are useless to me when it is on of ink. So the scanner doesn't work. This Epson solves all of that and allows me to continue working without missing a beat until I get ink for my printer. Something 3 in 1 printers should adjust to allow scanner usage when the ink is out. Thanks Epson!

Arrived today much earlier than expected. Worked as soon as I figured out I needed to download the drivers. Not a big deal. Duplex, Auto Color, fast. So far meets expectations. If it continues to do so I will return and update the review.
