After I filled al the ink containers, I tried to print a document in black ink. A couple of lines were only half height, so kept trying until I finally got a legible copy.

I have purchased three other printers and could not get any of them to do the influence that I wanted it to do, then I got the Epson, it is great it prints all sizes of envelope envelope.. It is easy to operate. I couldn't be happier.!!!

I would probably not buy another epson. I had to have a friend come to link it to my computer and she even had a hard time doing it. I had an HP before and will probably go back to that when this one breaks.

The worst!!!!! absolute WORST PRINTER ever!!!... do not and I repeat DO NOT!!! buy this printer. I am telling you 100% honest this is the worst printer ever created. It looks like it was designed to to be difficult in every way from the tiny screen to the constant disconnecting from the internet and then it tells you in a message that your wireless router is the problem..... it's asking you to uninstall and reinstall it has no explanation other than you are the problem and your Wi-Fi is the problem....... what gets me as they are so disgusting Epson by allowing us to continue to be on the market and they know that it's a piece of crap yet they're still selling it..... I am sure anybody that has responded in a positive way is not human and is some sort of AI generated situation................. It is beyond frustrating.,,, and again I am 100% telling the truth. This is a piece of garbage, a waste of money and more importantly, a waste of your time save yourself the aggravation. I.... I would give it -100 stars if I had the option............... I'm happy with this new one. Questions, does this recognize the paper? I use 8 1/2x 11. I don't see this as a choice. I can't seem to get it to print on both sides with my iPad or android phone. Thanks

A good value printer with the eco tank option to save on ink cartridges. It was easy to set up and use initially. But the next day it didn't show up on my Epson Smart Panel app on my phone! Do I had to remove the app and reinstall it for it to connect. It has done this 3 more times since then. It does this on my wife's iPhone as well. Not too impressed by that. We learned now that we have to power the phone down completely if it doesn't connect. Some days it does, some days it doesn't????

Have only been using for about 2 weeks now. Easy to set up with app. Using with a IMac. Scanning feature works well. I have only use the scanning feature through the app. Not sure how to using this feature on the printer screen menu.

I am extremely pleased with the quality of my new printer. It prints beautiful color documents very quickly. The Wifi is very dependable. I would definitely recommend this product.

While it is considered a quality printer, there are issues. Setting up the printer to the internet is counter-intuitive. Frequently, the process froze and the printer had to be shut off and turned back on. In addition, it really doesn't have a touch screen but a very small, badly placed window of 1.44". I will give this a couple of more days but not sure it won't be returned.

I've had this printer this printer for 6 months. I don't like it. I would not buy it again. My previous Epson printer, a WF-3540, was great. I had it many years and had very few problems with it. Eventually parts wore out. My main issue with the ET-2980 is the microscopic display. It is 1 inch by 1 inch with tiny font. It is very hard to see, and I seem to constantly have to answer questions and enter ok or proceed. The usability is terrible. There was space for a larger display - I assume it was a cost-cutting decision. I was unable to print mailing labels on this printer. I wasted lots of time trying different settings and nothing worked. It kept spitting out the label sheets. Also the paper holder is small. I am disappointed with this printer

JUST BOUGHT MY EPSON ET-2988 PRINTER FROM COSTCO, AFTER 3 DAYS OF WORKING WITH EPSON AND APPLE I WAS STILL UNABLE TO INSTALL THE DRIVERS. MY OLD EPRON ET-5550 I HAD FOR OVER 10 YEARS WITH NO ISSUES WITH DRIVER INSTALL. I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR REPAIRS. DONT BUY THE ET-2988 OR ET2980 PRINTER.

Worst printer I have ever purchased! Continuously hangs up, no matter how many times we update the firmware. Paper feeds poorly resulting in jams. Rarely connects to in-home laptops.

We've been using the printer for over a year now and mostly have found it easy to use. Power surges seem to affect it, even with a surge protector, so we're constantly having to unplug to reboot. The biggest problem happened today. The printer showed a warning that the Maintenance Box needs to be replaced and gave Product number T04D1. It didn't give a warning. It just stopped working and said this module has to be replaced before the printer can be used. We live in Oklahoma City. I've contacted Best Buy, Staples, Office Max and Office Depot, Walmart and Target. I also called Epson. No one has it in stock locally. It has to be ordered. Even Amazon is saying we won't get it until Tuesday if it is ordered today. This being a Thursday, it means we have a large non-functional paperweight for the next 5 days. My mom has a small business. Is she expected to go to the library to print? This is a big design flaw. Don't waste your money.

Bought this from Costco and the Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping. Every time you have to print, then go through power on/off cycle to restore connectivity. Called their technical support as well but it's useless since they don't know the root cause. I believe if the Wi-Fi routers are on DHCP mode the printer fails to recognize the wifi. So after every 30 mins or so it loses the connection and requires restart. Returned it after using two months. Also, within two months the color prints started getting lines on the print.

This has to be the worst printer I have ever owned. That is not because it doesn't turn out a good product, but mainly because it is so computer software dependent, and that often fails. Wi-fi connectivity is terrible. I can print with Wi-fi, and I can scan using the Windows Scan software I downloaded from the Microsoft Store. But Epson's own software can't find the scanner. I have to turn off the modem and printer and then restart everything for any chance for it to connect. Why is it that Epson's software can connect for printing, and Microsoft scan software can connect with the unit, but Epson's own software can't find it? I even tried to connect it manually entering the IP address of my Wi-fi, but that doesn't work. On the unit itself, I hit the appropriate arrows to get the appropriate screen for scanning and then it wants to know do I want to use the previous connection or use USB, and I tell it previous, and it says it's invalid. Checking the network connections on the unit tells me there's no connection. But I can print by wifi from my computer. So trying to use the printer itself to do anything other than just copy or print and is thoroughly iffy. So bottom line, the software makes this thing a giant headache. Maybe if I used the app on my phone, it would work more easily. But I get tired of being dependent on my phone for every blasted thing. Using the controls on the printer is also a mini nightmare. I read the warnings about using the tiny one inch window on the screen, and I should have heeded those warnings. I should not have to bend over to get close to the printer to read the screen. Add to this having the paper exposed all the time (no interior tray) and duplex printing, and this was a regrettable purchase.

I had no problem setting up my new printer and loading the ink bottles. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The install instructions run on an iPad or iPhone and make the process easier. I loaded the drivers on my laptop, also with no problems. The print quality, especially photos are much higher quality than my old HP printer with ink cartridges. The very small LED panel is hard to read, but not really needed much with the software on an Apple device. Overall this was a great upgrade from our old printer and the ink subscription we were paying for. Be advised that this printer will not print on both sides of a page, it is one side only

Setup gets a 4 out of 5. Could you have made the screen any smaller? And why does my warranty only run for 9 months? First impression is that it prints nicely, software downloaded and installed without a problem. Paper receiving tray looks pretty flimsy.

The excuse for a display a joke and hard to read. The ink tank bottle key slot is sloppy (all tanks) have to wiggle the tanks to get them to put the ink in. Yea this a low cost printer but it's not worth have the price, bought to replace a ET-3760 that the ink head is tired after 9K+ prints. Would defiantly NOT recommend this printer to anyone

I have only had the sprinter for two days and the quality seems good. I am using it with a MacBook Pro with iOS 11. It took me about an hour and a half to install a software and get the printer running Wi-Fi signal was recognized by the printer, but when I tried using it, it would not connect. I'm hoping it does not lose the Wi-Fi connection in the future because it is a pain to have to reset the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi connected instantly with my iPhone 11 and I was able to print from my phone right away no problems here I shut off the printer in the evening and then try to use the printer in the morning And again, it would not connect to the Wi-Fi. I had to go through the Wi-Fi settings again. Not happy with the software installation.

I bought this because my previous Epson was bleeding me dry in ink costs. This priinter has been a piece of crap since it came out of the box. I have not been able to print more than a couple of pages because the printer will not maintain the wifi password entered. I have reset the network settings at least 20 times, going thru all the steps to enter the network password (2 separate networks, extremely strong signal and high speeds available), yet the printer will only give me maybe a page or so every 4-5 resets. Junk!
