It's getting harder to find ink cartridges for my Epson R1900 now that it's over 10 years old. Adorama is the only place I've found that still carries the whole set, and the price has always been better than anywhere else I've found. The printer still works well, though I know eventually the heads will wear out and then it will be time to upgrade. I prefer to use genuine Epson cartridges because the colors are more accurate and I don't have to worry about refilled cartridges ink quality.

This ink set is used with the Epson R1900 printer. They are individual ink cartridges and really don’t hold much ink. I suppose they could be refilled with aftermarket ink but I’d prefer to use the manufacturer’s recommended inks. Prompt delivery from NY based on my proximity in New England using standard shipping. Nice job from Adorama as usual.

As with any printer - use the ink made by the original manufacturer. You will always come out ahead. And this product is no different. Works perfectly. And this gloss optimizer is pretty inexpensive compared to the color cartridges for the same printer.

I received genuine Epson ink cartridges in original boxes. These are getting harder to find. For serious photo printing, I recommend sticking with these. The price was reasonable here although oddly varies by color of ink. Other vendors have sent me old, unboxed cartridges that did not all work. By orderng the set (less the Gloss Opimizer which I already had), the shipping was free and at an even better price than individual cartridges, although those are still reasonably priced as well.

Pigment based inks and epson in particular are the best at creating really professional and richly colored prints that last a lot longer than dye based media. Epson 87 series inks are all I use now.

I once had the crazy idea of saving some money and ordered a "compatible with" ink cartridge for a printer. To the contrary, I lost money because the cartridges never worked. Did that once a long time ago and never will again. Epson ink is the best for my Epson printer and I would never consider buying anything else. Adorama's prices and service are excellent.
