Very expensive for what you get, not user friendly

The rep at Staples talked me into upgrading to this printer, I had a much simpler one before and miss it. It is SO tedious to scan to email and don't get me started on "HP Instant Ink", I barely printed and the trial ran out and I couldn't use my printer until I went out and bought new ink even though there were barely used cartridges in there. Will never buy an HP printer again.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 All-in-One Printer

I have not had a chance to use all the features of this printer, but I am very happy with the print function as well as the Instant Ink that came with my purchase. The delivery of my printer was very efficient.

DO NOT BUY

I am sitting at my job right now during a provincial stay at home order because my BRAND NEW printer does not work, therefore I can not work from home. 90% of my job involves printing and scanning. I figured this printer would do the job. It does not. The HP app does not work on a mac, it stopped working days ago. I called in and spoke to HP and was told not to use the app... yeah.. I was told to just scan from my computer instead. The scanner grabs three to four pages at a time, jams, doesn't save.. you name it. The only thing it can sorta do is print, and even that takes a couple of times using up ink and paper before the default settings change to what you want. I can't take this piece of junk back because they don't do returns during a lockdown... Because we are all supposed to be at home. Well I can't now, and it is entirely because of HP. Can't get my money back, can't do my job... DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. PRINTER.

I would definitely recommend this printer

Arrived in perfect condition within 3 days. Works perfectly. Is attractive looking. Only knock would be the paper support which doesn't slide in and out smoothly

The best of the worse

This is more likely a 2.5. I am give over 2 stars just because there are so many more bad printers out there. I am having so many, MANY problems. I had already to replace it once because I had way too many problems and the scanner wasn't working properly. This replacement unit is better for scanner, and just BARELY ENOUGH for me to decide to keep it rather than sending it back and relying on third party printing (like staples). I will list a few problems that I am having and a few frustration points: - The scanner is garbage if I scan at 300 DPI. I am scanning board game items (like cards) and all the reddish-brownish tones end up having a rainbow color stripes. Horrible. The only workaround was to increase to 600 DPI. The original printer I purchased didn't go over 300 DPI because of some faulty issues in the scanner. At 600 DPI works well enough, so that was the reason why I decided to stick with it and not try another brand. However, the print quality is driving me mad. - When scanning a full page, there is always a black line on the side. Of course you can remove it post-processing, but it shouldn't be the case. That was also for the previous one that I returned. So I believe it's all of these. - The front door (panel) is SO WEAK. I had to use paper-tape which is a very similar cream color to the border of the printer to tape it in place. Many users on youtube complain about this, so I knew what I was putting myself into. However, you really need to tape it. If it pops open it would stop printing. - It cannot handle big files or files with lots of pictures. Don't ask me why. I had to go to Staples to get a file printed. When I tried to print on this printer, it would print out an error page, and then each page after that was like a black-mountain like shape. At least so far I had to print only one file like that... but I wasted so many pages trying to make it print. Plus the money to print at Staples. - The quality of print depends a lot on the paper that you use, and that you SET in the printer options. I have HP paper with color lock. I would recommend you to purchase color-lock paper. You will have way more vibrant colors. HOWEVER, the print settings are a scam. No other way to describe it. When you print from computer, if you set "plain paper" the printer will still print non-vibrant colors, with a sort of foggy or non-contrast like quality. If you set "HP Brochure or Professional" then... there we go! Finally a nice print with a good contrast and vibrant colors. Why. Why do I had to choose a "color" setting by choosing a "paper type"? - Automated 2-side print is not aligned, and they should be ashamed of it. I tried it in both printers I had. This printer is a bit better, the first one was extremely bad. Try to have two pages with a + sign in the middle at the exact same spot, and tell the printer to print 2-sided. It won't be aligned. Those R&D people should have tested and tried this. In 2021 this quality of 2-side is extremely poor. The back side comes a little bit tilted, and a bit on the side and around 4 to 6mm up. If you print something 2 sided and you need to cut, be sure that you have a lot of room of bleed, because it's a guessing game with this printer. - A BIG turn off for me is the support team of HP. I contacted them several times during my issue history. Sometimes they tried to troubleshoot, other times they just said "I will send you a replacement printer". However, the BIG TURN OFF is that they are SO PUSHY trying to sell you extra coverage. This 2-3 years insurance so that if something breaks they would send you a new printer. I had to say no 7 times in a chat at one point. I am having all of these issues, thinking about returning it, you are sending me a replacement and you keep pushing so much to sell me some printer insurance? If this printer breaks I will happily go "Office Space" to it, in a lone field with an axe. I also wish there were more options to change the color settings of the print, and I could just increase color density or saturation or contrast for prints that I send from the computer. I am quite disappointed in HP so far. I have had HP printers all my life, but this will likely be the last.

Nothing but problems

I have had this printer for 3 weeks and have had nothing but problems. I've had issues with it sensing the ink, and it constantly goes offline. I have spent hours and hours trying to fix it instead of being able to actually use it. I will never buy another HP printer again and this one will be going back.

Absolutely amazing

I did not think I could love a printer this much! Connects to multiple devices, sends mobile fax so you don't need to set up a land line, can connect to your Google drive etc. You can even send it emails and it will print things when you're away. Genius.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8035

Still trying to get use to different features, Wish I had my old HP back. It was solid and had a bigger screen. I feel something on this one will break off it is not built as well. Too many steps to get adjust what I want printed and I was told it took legal paper. Can't see how that will happen unless I stand there and feed one sheet at a time. I should have waited until I could visually checked out printers in a store.

Very noisy

I bought this recently due to low cost....guess you get what you pay for. It is noisy and very cheaply made. Do not understand why they do not make larger ink tanks, unless you choose the automatic ink replacement service - cash grab.

Don't Recommend

I bought this several months ago and all it ever does is jam and ruin whatever it is I am scanning. It smudges the ink and crumples the paper.

Easy to Set Up and Use

Great printer, fantastic performance, great for my small office and home printing. I like the individual color cartridges as I did not like replacing entire cartrige for one color before. Looks great and solid feel.

External drawers and components seem cheaply made. My older HP Printer was way better made.
