Love it so far. The purple is less bold than in the picture, but I still like it. Still learning all the things it can do, but right out of the box it took great images. Certainly a major upgrade for me.

I absolutely love my new Minolta 35Z?Its not overly complicated making it possible for beginners to step up their game. I assume this is not a professional level camera either. With that said, it?s a great starting piece for any novice-advanced beginners. I couldn?t be more thrilled with my purchase because I thought I would only receive the camera, strap & charger. In actuality, I received a lot more?even though, I purchased this camera in Used - Excellent (E) condition, Adorama sent me the 35Z in it?s original box. I received the camera, charger, wall adapter, strap, carrying case, memory card & lens cap strap?as well as all of the original instruction manuals, original packing & the Minolta Windows CD (software Windows 7/8/10 for processing all of my photos & videos)!!! I have to say, I am really surprised & overwhelmed with this purchase. The condition of this unit seems brand new. I couldn?t tell the difference if I didn?t know. I played with it for about 2 hours & I already have a comprehensive understanding of how it works & all of the amazing features that Minolta has packed into this sucker. Thank You Adorama!

This is a great camera, HOWEVER, you will NOT be able to find extra batteries for it. If you want to use it to capture your adventures away from the power cord, you better have some reliable way to charge your camera. I am used to buying extra batteries to carry with me, but not for this camera. You will find tons of np-120 batteries that say they are compatible, but unless they have the notch on each side of the battery (just like the original battery) they won?t fit the MN35Z model camera. I took one of these $10 batteries and cut notches into it to make it fit my camera and it did work, but then it was unsafe to use because the insides of the battery were exposed and I had discard it. If I had known how hard it would be to get extra batteries for this camera, I would have chosen a different one. For this reason, I cannot recommend the Minolta MN35Z 20 MP to anyone until the battery supply problem is fixed.

It's a nice camera and it takes nice pictures. A couple of personal things that I don't like. I don't like that digital cameras no longer have view finders, not only just this one, unless you're sending a lot of money for a camera. While a view finder is seldom used it's still nice to have for bright areas, like sunny beaches. I don't like tethering the camera to a plug to change the battery and when I went to find a backup battery to charge outside of the camera with a charger I couldn't find one. Minolta created a keyed battery that makes it unique to their camera and of course they will sell a battery if you want one at a higher cost of $15 plus $5 shipping. Hence the special keyed battery. I thought about cutting out the key from the camera, which would void the warranty, but would prove a point. I decided to buy their battery, but buyer beware. I don't know if I would recommend this camera. If I knew about the special battery I may have looked at a Cannon or something. Otherwise it seems like a nice camera, but still checking it out, because I just got it.
