I bought this as a birthday gift to my son. He was totally awed and appreciative of the timing because he and his young family are expecting their second child in 2-months. This, I thought, would be the perfect gift for him and the entire family to create beautiful, long lasting memories. Contrary to the advertisement, this camera does NOT have an input for an external microphone. The item we purchased begins every recording with an audio squawk. Adorama was very attentive and easy to work with regarding this purchase. I would just not recommend the product for any high quality recording.
