This camera has capacities and tweaking beyond what you think! Every day after using this for over 2 years, I learn some new function. It's solid, it's smart, it's a game changer for those wanting advanced technology that works in a micro 4/3 system.

This is great high quality camera. The only issues I have are 1) The tracking focus has a hard time staying on the subject if it's fast moving. 2) It has too many different settings (hard to learn and get used to) and 3) The flash sync button keeps falling out. Other than that I think that this is an excellent camera for anyone except those who are very critical.

I've had this camera for over three years and I love the quality of the pictures it takes, it's compact size and I love that I can take pictures at relatively slow shutter speeds without a tripod. But today I'm finally writing a review because of it's ruggedness. I may have left my camera outside, overnight in a storm. I was sure I had destroyed my camera and was too afraid to turn it on. I left it for a week to air day and today I put the battery back in and it's completely fine! Thank you Olympus for making a rugged and durable camera!

I wanted to downsize from my Canon full frame cameras to something I would be more apt to carry, and this really fit my needs! Super fast auto focus. Astounding 5-axis stabilization - it really helps to steady my shaky hands. Tons of features in a surprisingly hefty, solidly built camera and lens. The lens is beautifully constructed of metal and is obvioudly built to a high degree of form, fit, finish and it delivers optically. I am totally convinced I made the right choice (the Battery Power Holder was purchased to better fit my hands). Next lens?...the 17mm f1.8. Then the 40-75mm f2.8. The 7-14mm f2.8 and maybe the 60mm Macro...

the camera would randomly shut down and not power up again. sometimes removing and reinstalling the battery would work for a time. I was please with the camera when and if it would work. on it's way back now.

The Olympus OMD E-M1 Micro Four Thirds Camera Body Only is a professional build camera which is fully weather and freeze proof. It has the amazing 5-Axis IS and a HUGE LCD screen. It now has phase and contrast detect AF and is compatible with normal 4/3 glass, meaning when you use normal 4/3 glass you will get FAST AF. It appears the VF-4 is built into the camera. The camera also has a built-in grip as well as an external battery grip. The top of the camera is beautiful and screams pro build and feel and control.
