Tried it on my Canon RP with Canon RF-EF adapter. Impressed by the sharpness and build quality. The focus ring is very tight. I like the ability to change the aperture using my camera instead of turning a ring on the lense in competitor's lense. 15mm at f/2.8 is what I used for astrophotography. First shots using lense shown. Focus lock and infinity focus click are nice features. I like the lense hood and cap. Cap can be tricky to put on in the dark.

What a fun lens! I wish I would have sprung for the more expensive version. But this one does all I need plus!

Very nice using this IRIX 15mm f/2.4 lens with the FTZ adapter on my Z6 and for my D810. It's pretty easy to manually focus however, the unique focus lock ring is quite stiff. It has the connections to let you control aperture and you get full EXIF data. So far it's sharp, well controlled distortion, easy, and fun to use with weather sealing, filter use availability. All of that for a very reasonable price! Still testing the copy I got.

Love using this IRIX 15 f/2.5 lens with the FTZ adapter on my Z6. It's super easy to manually focus. It has the connections to let you control aperture and you get full EXIF data. It's super sharp, easy, and fun to use with weather sealing to boot . All of that for a very reasonable price !

Solid lens. Overall very satisfied, only complaint is that the manual focus ring is a bit stiff.

This lens had the worst decentering I’ve ever seen. Entire left side of the frame was soft, regardless of aperture. From reading online, irix seems to have quality control issues. Glad adorama has a good return policy

I was going to buy the Rokinon/Samyang 14mm lens for milkyway shots until I discovered this lens. With only (&) more than a Rokinon, this is still a cheap lens, however, I believe it is better in everyway (at least according to the specs). Some said that the infinity mark is usually not very accurate, but at least mine is pretty accurate for stars. I have only taken it out once for a milkyway shot (cloudy all the time in the midwest!) and very happy with the results. I am only planning to use this lens for astrophotography so I am not worried about filters, still it is good to know that you do not need an expensive filter system for landscapes with the front element not being a huge bulb. If you are hesitating between the Firefly and Blackstone version like I did, just get the Firefly version because it is already a fantastic lens, buy a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 with the money you saved. I highly recommend this lens.

The way I look at this lens is ROI - for the price it simply can't get any better. Beautiful landscape and astro shots with minimal distortions. For the artistic bokeh it's not the best but gives a nice subdued softness.

I purchased the Irix 15mm lens to do some interior photography, and it’s been great. The focus lock was set to infinity right away without me having to do any calibration, and with focus peaking in my Sony A7rii, I haven’t missed the autofocus. Distortion is surprisingly minimal, and what is there is easily fixed in Lightroom. It’s been pretty sharp, and I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great ff wide angle lens. Sharp as a tack with pleasing color rendition. My favorite wide angle for my D750 and I have several other wide lens. Great build quality and attention to detail. Like it so well thinking about buying the Irix 150 macro.

I love this lens for landscapes, for astrophotography though there's a minor flaw in it as it makes stars into comas. Other than that it's a great lens.

Tack sharp, solid built, my only complain is the focus scale seems to be a bit off defacto(don't trust the camera confirmation), and the customer service yet to get back to me after a month, that aside, if you have the patience to sit it out focusing, amazing glass

I've only used this lens for a few days. For the money, it's incredible. It is just as sharp as my L glass, maybe better. At the very edges it is quite soft, but everywhere else quite good. I might leave a little room for cropping. As I shoot only at night, I pretty much have to shoot wide open. Stopped down might be even better. Manual focusing in the dark is a bit of a challenge but for day time landscapers, it should be a snap, especially with Canon focus confirmation. If you don't mind the weight, I could see getting the more rugged metal version, but given the weight, I am glad I got the Firefly. 70-200 L; 24-70 L; Irix 15 -- a comprehensive combination.

I like to improve my lens collection but keep costs and weight down. I have a 24mm Tilt/Shift which I have grown to love but frequently wished for something a bit wider. The wide angle zooms seem quite good today but they are heavy and expensive. This IRIX 15mm does the job perfectly for me. In addition, I get a full set of ND filters included so I only need to add the CPF. The pictures I am getting are very sharp and nicely contrasty so I am very happy with that.

I bought this lens for Milky Way photography in which a fast lens is an advantage if not a must. Accurate infinity focus is critical and this lens is calibrated well right out of the box. It focuses best on stars at the full infinity setting. I've had other wide angle prime lenses that were way off in this respect. I had a bit of an issue attaching the included lens shade which didn't seem to fit properly. I contacted Irix support by email and they were very responsive. Problem solved. My first results are excellent and I've concluded that the lens is a keeper. It will work on both crop sensor and full frame cameras but the lens really shines on full frame for my particular application (Milky Way). See the included photo.

I use both Firely and Blackstone version, both are very sharp but not in all frame position, one is more sharp in the right and the other is better in the left, that is some issue about quality control, but for me it is not a big problem. I choose this for landscape photography because it is very good perfromance/ price and the most importance for me that it can use 100mm square filters system in the front of lens instead of 150mm system so you can save huge of money, space and wieght in your bag

I love this lens. The quality is high both optically and in its overall build. The results I've gotten so far are outstanding, especially for the price of this lens. I also have the 11mm in Pentax mount and it, too, is outstanding. Highly recommend. The lack of auto-focus in a focal length this wide is not an issue because of the extreme depth of field. But, you have to remember to focus it manually, or you can get images that are not in focus.

I bought this lens for capturing wide angle landscapes, architecture and astro photography shots. So far I've only used it for landscapes on my but I have to say I'm impressed. For the price this is a great little lens. I went for the firefly to save weight and it feels reasonably sturdy considering its all plastic. What I really noticed about this lens though is the lack of distortion, I also have the nikon 16-35mm and this gives much straighter edges. Its also very sharp when you nail the focus. I wish I could get an autofocus version but at this focal length its not really a major problem. The focus ring clicks into place at infinity and seems to be reasonably accurate. The only real downside I noticed is that the photos tend to look slightly underexposed so I have to up my exposure compensation slightly. All in all a great value lens from a reasonably unknown manufacturer. I look forward to seeing what else Irix will come out with.

Fast focus, ease of use, sharp images and minimal distortion for such a wide angle lens. very happy with it, would recommend.

This is my first wide angle lense. I used it on my canon 80D and Canon D classic. Lense is recommended for a full body camera but it does work well on a crop sensor too. You just get less field view. The lense fells extremely solid and well built. Love the packaging in a metal box, extra protection. It also came with a protection case. I am looking forward to see what futur lenses this new Swiss company is going to produce!

Great lens - sharp to the corners. The only issue i have is that infinity focus is not where it should be... but there is an adjustment for that, I just haven't been able to do it correctly yet.

Lens works great on a tripod with immobile subjects (architecture, landscapes, astrophotography) but manual focus only design impractical given autofocus alternatives of comparable image quality. Returned lens to replace with Nikon 18-35mm AF-D.

First I would like to thank Ms. Trixie of Adorama for going out of way to make sure I get my lens before my vacation. Keep it up! Now, the lens arrived well packaged in a card board and the actual lens was inside a tin can! I bought the cheap Firefly version - but there is nothing cheap about this lens. The little expensive model is supposed to be all metal and few additions but this version is more than enough for my usage. It is by no means cheap plastic looking lens. The construction pro quality. Performance: The sharpness is is just wonderful even wide open and this is expected for most of the wide angle lens. The focus confirmation works very well with my Nikon and love the focus ring feel. Also bought a filter adapter for my 6 stop ND filter and works well. This is the main reason I bought this lens. You can attach filters in the front and / or at the back of the lens! Wide angle lenses are easy to focus manually because of large DOF. So if you are thinking about going wide, I would highly recommend giving this lens a try. Now, why I gave only 4 stars is that the tin can, was slightly damaged inside the original cardboard box. I am sure it was not fault of the Adorama but the original packager. The lens performs flawlessly and did not want to return/exchange the lens for that reason!

I purchased this lens primarily for landscape astrophotography, and hopefully for daytime landscapes as well. So far I've only had one opportunity for a night shoot, but I'm impressed. The lens is quite sharp wide open, and coma and other abberations in the corners are low. Also, the infinity click stop appears to be accurate. The build quality is high, but the lens is actually lighter than I expected. I fully expect to get a lot of great images with this lens.

Excellent Image Quality and well-thought out Features
By madison b.
Quite impressed with this lens and price. Image quality is excellent, and it has a number of nice additional features -- filter accommodation, infinity focus detent, focus lock, inclusion of two back lens caps. It also has a place to put gel filters in the mount, and a window in the lens cap to adjust a circular polarizer. Overall, good thought went into the ergonomic design of the lens. This focal length makes for impressive landscape shots, particularly with dramatic skies or an expansi...
