I bought this camera and in less than a year have gone through two. The first one cracked and the second one had a water seal failure and a cracked LCD screen. Customer service at Sony is awful. Save your money and buy a different camera.

I purchased the Sony Cyber-Shot DSCTX200V for both it's great looks and its waterproof capabilities. I have used the Sony Cyber-Shot DSCTX200V on 4 snorkeling trips and 2 trips to the pool. When I first unpacked the camera, I was a little worried about it's durability, but so far it appears to be much more durable than it looks, and I feel very comfortable that it will not leak under normal conditions. This camera takes great photos underwater. The power, zoom, and shutter buttons are very easy to access and use underwater. The USB transfer and power cable are easily accessed from the battery bay. The waterproof gasket on the battery bay looks very durable, and the bay itself stays dry. The battery is small and lightweight, and I was only able to get up to 130 photos and 10 minutes of video on a single charge. If you take a lot of pics, be prepared to charge frequently or carry an extra battery. The Touchscreen controls are easy to use out of the water (not impossible in water), and many of the features on this camera are similar to those on other recent Sony cameras. However, I feel Sony could have made it much easier to access the underwater photography settings: 1. It is extremely difficult to see the display while in water and sun, especially when snorkeling. 2. As the documentation suggests, touchscreen controls do not work underwater. However, above water it is possible to use the screen if you can dry your fingers and see the screen. 3. Accessing the Underwater Scene setting requires multiple touchscreen clicks, and a fare amount of touchscreen scrolling (very difficult to do with wet fingers). 3. If you forget to set the Underwater Scene selection before getting into the water, especially when snorkeling, you will find it quite frustrating to a) Find the setting when you can barely see the screen, b) Change the setting when your fingers are wet, and c) Tell whether you selected the proper setting. TIP: Memorize the location of the Underwater setting. When in the water, instead of trying to scroll down to the bottom to select the Underwater Scene, select the lowest Scene selection you can, then reopen the SCN setting and Underwater should be available at the bottom without having to scroll.

Love the small size but recommend using a screen protector on both the front and back of the camera as they seem very easily scratched. Haven't used under water yet, but I have an earlier version and it was fine.

The Sony DSCTX200V Digital Camera is a waterproof, dustproof 18.2MP point-and-shoot that's both rugged and high-performing. Not afraid of the elements, the TX200V is great for outdoor and indoor adventures alike. At the same time, this high-resolution camera provides excellent image quality and 1080/60p video capture.
Features like a 3.0" touchscreen OLED, 5x optical and 10x clear image zoom and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization help you make great memories into detailed, beautiful stills and movies. Other features like Hi-Speed AF (autofocus) allow you to capture even fast moving subjects with ease. Additional auto modes take the guesswork out of shooting, while creative modes let you put an artistic spin on your images, in-camera.
The TX200V also sports a built-in flash for capturing even in low-light situations. The "Natural Flash" mode creates lifelike images that utilize a reference shot to correct color in the final photo. Other modes that enhance your photos include the Anti-blink function, Soft Skin mode and Intelligent Scene Recognition, among others.
