Best service rifle sope ever!!!

I've been shooting one of these for a year now after 20+ years on irons. In conjuction with a WOA ghost ring lens I'm back to my previous level. The circle of the ghost ring, the Bull-ring, the circle of the target, and the Firedot inside it makes it like a video game, line em up and shoot an X, circle in a circle in a circle with a pin point dot. Shot a 9x sitting the last match. Its really too bad they're discontinuing this unless they come out with a 4.5 fixed bull-ring Firedot. I LOVE THIS SCOPE!

Poor elevation design

Once the scope is zeroed you cannot bring the bullet impact down. i.e. a 200yd zero cannot be adjusted with recalibrating the elevation cap.

Clear glass, very usable recital. First Midrange match with it shot my first Highmaster score Knobs very easy to read Wish it was quick focus on ocular focus, can be frustrating. Take your time and walk away and can back later is best advise,

Top on the line competitive optic

I am a high power rifle competitor and have been using another scope for the past couple years. During the 2019 competitive shooting season I switched to the Leupold fx-4.5hd 4.5x24 service rifle optic. I like the scope and prefer it over all other scopes. During the NRA national matches I won two of the standing matches with scores of 200-9X and 197-9X. I have won several other shooting competitions using this scope and highly recommend it to any and all competitive shooters. The scope is crystal clear, easy to see the reticle from the 200, 300, and 600 yard line, and tracks precisely each time.

Fantastic service rifle scope for ATC competition

Excellent service rifle scope. I wasn't sure I'd like the bull-post reticle but I've found I shoot quite well with it. Glass is super clear and the zero stop on both the elevation and windage are awesome. Definitely recommend if you want a variable power service rifle scope for ATC competition or mid range service rifle competition.

Leupold is my "go to" brand of scope!

I just purchased this scope for a new AR-15 that I put together. Leupold is the only brand of scope that I have purchased for many years and I am never disappointed with them. They are not the cheapest on the market but as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for". I feel that Leupold Scopes are a great value. The optics are bright clear and the tracking of the adjustments is very accurate. I'm retired now and don't do much more than plinking and an annual prairie dog hunt but I still buy Leupold when I need a new scope!

Great scope but...

This is a great scope and I'm happy with it except I think it could use a white dot on the reticle post so you can get a very fine zero on the x . I'm sure it's costing me points in matches. Black reticle and a black target makes it harder to get a good sight picture...

VX-4.5HD 1-4.5x24 Service Rifle Scope

This scope has a very high quality glass and the bull ring post reticle is simple and very precise. The ring is the same size the NF SR2 ring, "the black just fits inside the ring on a service rifle target." The turrets are low and a large diameter with a very nice indexing feel from one click to the next for precise adjustments. The Zero-Lock dial system is nice but once you set it, you can not make down adjustments beyond the Zero-Lock set point. This is a problem for guys that shoot 100 yard reduced course and want to maintain a 200 yard zero. Overall this is a very high quality scope that you will see a lot more of at Perry.

Custom Dial System
Leupold's Custom Dial System (CDS) gives you the ability to customize your turret (adjustment dial) to your exact ballistics and environmental conditions. Once your new custom dial is installed, simply range the target, turn the dial to that number, and aim dead on.

Second Focal Plane
In Second Focal Plane (rear focal plane) scopes, the reticle stays the same size while the target grows and shrinks when you adjust the magnification. These reticles are ideal for lowlight hunting situations and in scopes that don't utilize hash marks for range estimation.

Zero Stop
The ZeroStop system creates a backstop when returning the dial back to zero, so you don't accidently turn the dial a full revolution in the wrong direction.
