I bought a couple years ago, but I've barely used it. Played some games and worked fine at first, but then it started downloaded so much lenovo bloatware it barely starts and hardly works. Also the subs are and always been jacked up and ruins sound so the only way I'd play sound out of it is if I have head phones or a speaker. I think this is a Lenovo problem since it's all Lenovo programs slowing it down. I'll never buy Lenovo again

I've been working with this laptop for 3 months now and I really like it. But I do have quibbles (below). With the graphics coprocessor, this is a fast, very capable machine. I bought extra RAM (16GB total) and really believe Windows 10 shines with it. The screen is a matte finish, which means little glare or reflections, great for bright rooms, or outside. I love the red-light backlit keyboard; and the sound is spectacular for a laptop. Now for the quibbles: this is a big, heavy machine. The 17" screen necessitates the size, and the great sound (with Dolby!) comes from the heavy magnets in the speakers. Not terrible, just know this before purchasing. Battery life has been about 5 hours with moderate load & above normal screen brightness. The touchpad takes some getting used to (and adjustment of the settings) - it's not the best that I've used. I'd also like to see some changes to the keyboard: several Function keys ("F") have been left blank - perhaps intentionally, for user assignment - that could be put to use for frequently needed items. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

...But this one does. There's a lot of reasons for this, from it's build quality (flawless) to it's power under the hood. My machine is the i5, 128GB SSD / 1TB HD model with Nvidia GTX960m with 4GB's of data and the 17 inch screen. This is by far, the beefiest laptop I've owned. I've owned several laptops in the past, including IBM's and Lenovo. And as usual, Lenovo hit it out of the park when it comes to build quality here. There are no squeaks, the screen doesn't wobble, the keyboard doesn't flex, it doesn't feel plastic-y. So far, I've only thrown a few games at it. Destiny runs perfectly in max, as does Warframe. Star Wars, The Old Republic runs like a champ maxed out. And the machine handles the games very well when it comes to heat, too. On my old gaming machines, they'd get so hot I'd have to use an external keyboard because the palm rests would get too hot from the GPU / CPU. Not the Lenovo Y-700, this machine remains cool, even cool enough to keep in your lap if you'd be so inclined. Overall, this machine is just a good machine for all around. It handles gaming, video and picture editing, surfing the web and watching videos. If you're looking for a budget gaming machine that feels super premium, the Lenovo Y-700 is the machine you should be looking at.

This laptop is still fairly new to me, but so far I am quite impressed. I have been busy installing and setting up apps, etc. The response speed is impressive. The display is clear and appealing. Sound quality is excellent.

Wanted something speedy, not too expensive. That's exactly what I got. The i7 processor, the solid state program drive with the large 1TB storage drive is the perfect combination for me. So far I like it very much.

I just ordered the new laptop and started using it. It boots up really quickly and runs intensive programs such as Microsoft programming tools immediately.

I bought this computer one year and eight months ago, but it stopped working after one year and six months, so now technically I wouldn't call it a computer. Unfortunately my Warrenty ended after the first year so when i called Lenovo repair they informed me that they would not be able to help me, (they only help people who are under Warrenty) and that I should contact a local shop instead, or call their parts supplier. So i called their parts supplier, who informed me that the motherboard would cost $1000. I just needed her to repeat that because there had to be a mistake. She actually told me that there were two other motherboard models that go with my computer and the $1000 was the cheapest. Terrible support and hardware that breaks I opened a ticket in Lenovo forums asking for support to which one of the few

I have had this laptop for a little over a month and I am very impressed with the speed of the machine. I mainly use it for photo editing, email and internet, but it handles very well. It boots up very quickly and performs operations quickly. I have to watch hovering over something for longer than a second because the Lenovo will have the operation performed and I might still be pondering it! I am really glad I purchased it as it up a definite upgrade from my previous laptop.

I bought this for the big screen and nice speakers, just assuming that the standard parts of a laptop like the trackpad would work properly. Unfortunately, the trackpad randomly sends the cursor to the bottom of the screen all the time. You'd think Lenovo would notice such a masssive problem and not sell garbage, but you'd be wrong.

Have been using my new Y700 for a couple of months now and find it does a great job with my large files and folder picture files. I use it with the Adobe Photoshop and related programs with amazing speed.

I bought this computer in April, it is the worst laptop that I could buy seriously, I never demanded it to the maximum and it is the worst, I am an annoying client because I thought it would work. regards

My new Y700 is a powerhouse! Bought to replace my 4 year old U530 and used for image editing and storage as well as everyday use in the office and on the road. This is a super fast, super smooth machine. The screen resolution is amazing. Its starts fast, launches applications fast and keeps up under heavy work loads. I'm very happy.

I bought this laptop for my husband for his birthday. He does a lot of writing, online video streaming, and online gaming. Compared to similar gaming laptops, the graphics, sound, dispay, and speed are are extremely similar! I also looked at other manufacturers, but Lenovo's general rilability and cheapest price for the best features really sold me! My husband loves the computer and says it is perfect in every way! The 1TB hard drive is amazing, the NVIDIA graphics is phenomenal- the picture is crystal clear-, the 7th gen i7 processor makes streaming super fast, and the heft memory ensures that there is no lag in gameplay! All in all- a fantastic device!

Had it about two months now, happy with the machine and the price. Felt a little pressured during the buying experience and that nearly lead me away. Might had bought some additional software otherwise. You will not be disappointed by the computer though.

I've used this computer as a development machine for about 2 months now. It's fast with an i7, 16GB of ram and an SSD - plenty of horsepower and no swapping issues in windows 10, even with multiple copies of VisualStudio open. Would have liked an option to get a larger SSD. Battery performance is so-so.. lasts 2-3 hours. Unfortunately, battery is NOT user replacable. All in all still a great value for the price I paid (~$850 total)

The market for big laptops like this is definitely decreasing, but if you are looking for great performance and a big screen for the lowest price in the market it is hard to do better than this laptop. This laptop definitely has a perfect combination of performance and affordability. 1TB Hard drive makes for convenient storage while 128GB SSD allows for sub-10 second start up times from a fully off to starting your task. The laptop goes a great job of cooling and if you don't care about fan noise, the cool booster feature that sets fans to max speed keeps the laptop very cool during gaming and other intensive processes. Don't be scared off by the 6th gen Intel CPU despite the 8th gen coming out.The cpu overclocks itself normally at 3.2 Ghz so at normal conditions runs much faster than the 2.6Ghz advertised. 16GB of RAM is very nice as I occasionally go over 8GB in use during multitasking with demanding CAD applications, videos, and gaming. If you are a casual to moderate gamer, the NVidia 960GTX is still a great card despite everyone saying its not worth buying one anymore because of the 1050 and up series. At it's price point, you can't get better specs in a laptop. This is not the latest and greatest gaming laptop - that's what it looks like Lenovo is trying to do with the legion series. However, this laptop is about 85% of the performance of some of the best new gaming laptops at only 50% of the price. The build quality is very nice and no part of the laptop feels cheap. The Lenovo branding on this laptop is very subtle, almost too unnoticeable as you wouldn't be able to tell it is a Lenovo glancing at it if you didn't already know it. This does make it an appropriate work laptop option despite the red styling on the speakers and keyboard. I'm personally not a huge fan of red and black, but after receiving the laptop it is very tastefully done and surprisingly isn't overbearing like I expected it to be. The speakers can get outrageously loud and have great quality for a laptop. The only possible negative I can think of is that every single part of this laptop is a fingerprint magnet. There is no way to handle the laptop without getting noticeable fingerprints on the cover, inside, and keyboard. But if this bothers you, a simple wipe with rubbing alcohol easily removes all smudges and shouldn't deter the purchase of this laptop in the least. If you want a USB C port, get this laptop and keep it for 6 years or so as the quality and specs of it seems like it will last that long and upgrade to a new one once the type C port becomes more practical to use without carrying around countless adapters and dongles.

The specs of the laptop look good but the laptop overall feels cheap. Here is a list of pros and cons that may be helpful if you buy this laptop like me. Pros. 1. Laptop specs are competitive for the price range ($800-900) . 2. Speakers sound great, best I've heard in a laptop. 3. Runs well with graphic design programs and non demanding gaming. eg. If you play league of legends you will get maximum settings but if you like some of the more demanding graphic games you will only get medium to low graphic settings. 4. Nice aggressive laptop design. Red speakers and the red keyboard lights. Cons. 1. Laptop looks cheap, exterior will always be dirty unless you are constantly cleaning it (fingerprint magnet). 2. Bad keyboard. The location of the keyboard is not comfortably placed and the keyboard itself feels cheap. 3. Horrible mousepad. It is borderline unusable, it doesn't track your fingers and feels rough to use ( you need to instantly get a mouse). 4. Foggy screen. The screen will come with antiglare plastic that makes the screen look bad. I've heard that you can remove it with a blowdried but I haven't try. 5. Bad costumer support.

I love the power of this laptop. A few issues I have: BIG ISSUE: Lenovo usb keeps auto disconnecting and reconnecting...I had this issue and it ultimately made my external backup Seagate external drive useless because it disconnects drive without the option to safely remove hardware . This is a known issue and a Google search will confirm. Their is a random popping noise from the speaker. This is a known issue and a Google search will confirm. No CD/DVD player. Not big deal for me, but it should be pointed out. Opening and closing laptop is quirky because there is no "lip" to pull apart. You have to pry it open with your fingertip.

The laptop works sweet for gaming, that is if u get the game started... Sometimes, for some reason, it takes me SO MUCH time just to start a game, and im not talking about big, open world, "amazing graphics" games. I mean, sometimes, I wait 5 min just for CSGO to start off... But afterwards the games work perfect :)
