Easy to attach, collapses from 1 1/2 to 1/2 inch so easy to store which makes it preferrable to me over an all plastic hood. The shooting in a 'tube' effect shows up at or below 20mm, but is visible in my viewfinder. My only gripe is the glue used. I am ordering a second one and will immediately try the same fix as my first by separating the rubber hood from the threaded fitting. Then will apply contact cement using a tooth pick, reassemble and wait 48 hours for a permanent connection between the 2 pieces.

I have used rubber lens hoods for a long time, back to the film era on my Cannon A1. Just got a T3i. Took a picture with the sun off just to the side of the frame and had reflection off the les that shows in the picture. With this lens hood deployed - no reflection - a great picture. The hood does exactly what is should. Works down to about a 20mm lens. Great for telephoto lenses.

This is a great hood for most situations but may be too short in some

Needed a good lens hood that was compact and wouldn't take up much space in my small gear bag. This lens hood fit the bill very well. The rubber hood collapses easily when not needed, and has internal threads for attaching filters. It's made of lightweight rubber, so not sure how it will hold up long term. But at such an econmonical price, it's easily replaced.

I keep one of these handy lens protectors on any time I'm out in the fields or in crowded situations. My daughter is a budding photog now so I gave her one as a stocking stuffer.

Love these rubber lens hoods. Easily push back out of the way, another protection for the front of the lens. Only down size is the rubber discolors a little.

A rubber lens cover is superior to the plastic ones in durability. It would be better at protecting the camera if it had a double rim.

This looks like it will give me years of use. Fit well and works like I expected it to.

I don't recall anymore just what I paid for this, but for the [$] I paid, I'm satisfied. There is visible glue coming from the seams which makes this thing kinda unsightly, but hey....it still works just fine.

This seems like an ok hood, but is bulky and doesn't feel like it will last very long. It will get me through until I can save enough allowance to buy a dedicated hood

Nice starter hood. Protects my lens and easy to install. Great price too!

Cheap alternative to some of the rediculously priced hoods out there. This works best with medium telephoto lenses and, as with all Adorama branded products, is well made and functional.

Lens hoods guard against uncontrolled, stray light and unwanted reflections which result in reduced contrast and possible "ghost Images". In general, the use of a lens hood is recommended because better contrast improves the appearance of the photograph. This accessory also offers protection for the front lens element against rain and mechanical damage.
Rubber Lens Hood are made out of a high quality matte black rubber. It folds down and protects against contrast - reducing, uncontrolled, stray light.
