My LG TV is about seven years old. I have had to replace the backlight about two years ago. The TV works great although I think the picture could be a little better.

I seem to have had the same issue as others with the LED lights going out and the screen turning black. I must be really lucky since it lasted 5 years! LED is not new technology so it must be a quality issue with LG. I'll find another manufacturer while I'm shopping for another TV.

Loved the TV until backlight issues. I?ve had different LED strips replaced 3x?s already over the last year & now there is another out. I refuse to pay to have it fixed again as the money spent already could?ve purchased a new one. LG do you have a buy back program for this model??? Clearly there was a defect. I was given another LG as a gift from my job last month. I?m praying I don?t have the same issues. That would be tragic!!

I ordered the TV from Tiger Direct and from the first time I turned it on the pictrue was great. The wi-fi connection for the smart TV part does not work that well, but the same on my new LG works great. Everyone who sees the 47" TV says what a great picture it is. Not the save with the 49" 4K UHD that I bought at Costco. Everyone that sees it says why doesn't the picture look as good as the Old TV. If you have a chance to buy one of these 47" LN5400 TV's New or Used, it is worth a good look if you like very clear and sharp TV.

I've had my LG 47LN5400 for 3 years and used it as one of 4 TV's in the house. Recently the backlight failed and it no longer display images. First it started blacking out after 10-15 minutes of use then it just failed. It's not worth repairing so I will likely purchase a different brand this time around.

I have owned this tv since 2014 and have never had any problems with it. I upgraded the sound through an LG sound bar, but other than that everything is original and working the same as the day I took it out of the box. The only part I am disappointed with is that Sling TV is not available on it. Since purchasing this tv I have actually purchased 2 more LG tv's for different rooms because of their reliability and dependability.

This TV was the first one that got me into expecting top of the line visuals from a TV. LG made a TV that was perfect in all fronts, i.e. physical presentation, size, 3d, color availability, and sharpness. The options and tweaks I discovered also made this an amazing first TV. Thank you LG!

We bought this 5 years ago, and it's still going strong. We've never had any issues, the sound, color, and apps are great. This was our first smart tv and it's been more than what we could ask for.

It seems that I've done better than many other reviewers, since I got 3 years and 7 months from my TV before it died. Fortunately, I bought a 5-year service contract so it won't cost anything to have it repaired and it has been a very nice TV with good features until it failed.
