Did the job but I didn't trust it for the majority of the shoot I did. Photo shoots are hectic enough, you need more reliable equipment. It's good for a light weight speed light but thats about it.

I needed a quick to set up light weight stand. It works but was broken when I received it. I REALLY need a stand, and all the companies seem to be on back order, so I bought stuff to fix it at the hardware store. Really bad quality, but I needed something basic to take head-shots with.

This is a light duty light stand. The construction reminds me of a heavy version of the stands that hold sheet music. It is not meant for heavy use like C-stands. It packs easily in a small tripod bag. I've put this light stand and the 8-1/2 foot Nano in the same 29 inch tripod bag. Don't expect this to be a durable studio light stand. It is painted black. The knobs work well, though the sections do stick a bit. A wipe with a rag very lightly sprayed with silicone may make it easier. If you put any weigh on it and extend it, you should have saddle bags or other weights on its base to stabilize it. And, since it is light duty, I wouldn't put too much weight on it anyway. On a side note, I think that the light stand I received was obviously used or was a floor model. It had damage to the clamps that looked like it was dropped or another piece of metal hit it. I notified Adorama. Within two days, they contacted me to offer a $10 discount on it. I'm satisfied.

Small and travels easily; a great way to position Speedlites off camera. it even holds a small umbrella.
