Nice daypack, but not an ideal hiking pack

A great daypack with side pocket for Befree tripods so nothing hangs off the pack. The other side opens to access the camera and lenses, with the bottom half for the camera and the top for personal items (small drinks, snacks, jacket) or more gear. But if you are looking for a hiking daypack, like I was, then this may not be a first choice. There isn’t enough space for bottles and such for a full day hike, unless you use the tripod pocket for a tall bottle or hydration pack.

Always take a camera & multiple lenses wherever you go?

I am usually too lazy to write reviews but feel this bag has performed so well it deserves a few minutes...I am a 'serious amateur' who never goes anywhere without a camera--I am not a professional photographer, so this means I need to carry on the duties of a full life and can't carry *just* a camera bag and then a second bag for the needful. Before I bought this bag, I had at least 5 other camera bags, but found none of them were right when I would be heading out for the day for an outing with my spouse or kids and wanted to take all the gear I 'needed' (primes, zooms, etc.) and a few other things (lunch, clothing, reading material, laptop & cords). I looked and looked for months, and felt like bags were either *just* for carrying photo gear or were the regular backpack (in which your lenses would bounce and jostle. I have used this backpack for almost 2 years now and couldn't be happier with it. It is strong and durable, easy to draw out your camera without taking the pack off, can easily carry a camera with one lens and 3 more, plus leaving room for light supplies. The lens arrangements are customizable so you can make bigger lenses fit (okay, not really the 70-200, but I have pulled out all the dividers and fit a mounted Sigma 150-600 on my Nikon in it). It looks like a regular backpack so you are not making yourself a target. It is reasonably comfortable loaded with 20lbs of stuff for 15miles of beach hiking (my wife is an avid walker) but also is appropriate for airline carry on, riding the subway, or sitting in a coffee shop working on your laptop. Is is perfect? No...I wish Manfrotto would make a slightly bigger version with a wider waist strap and thicker shoulder padding. However, this is my weekend & travel go-to bag, and I have gotten a lot of enjoyment from *not* having to leave extra lenses at home when I go out for the day. Highly recommended.

good for the price

Has some great features, still a little mystified by the upper compartment where all I can figure is the camera body with lens is free to roll around freely in the space. Still the bag is large and seems tough

Solid pack for the traveling photographer

I recently went to Scotland - around Edinburgh and Isle of Skye and the pack has ample storage for a thick sweater and rain jacket, charger, 13"macbook/2 magazines - in addition to camera gear with three lenses and a heavy duty tripod. Rain protector certainly came in handy as Isle of Skye weather is insane this time of year. I searched for a long time and ordered two packs prior to this one. I was pleased with the results having used it now for about a month. I had also purchased the Manfrotto MB MS-BP-IGR Medium Backpack and was ok for just around town but did not like the accessibility of the camera compartment.
