For years we've been behind the times with WiFi. I said enough and bought this WiFi system. It did exactly as advertised and beyond. The downside was having Spectrum provision it in their system. The upside was because Orbi has a cable connection status, I was able to see our connection from us to Spectrum. It was poor with a 13.3dBmV. The recommended level is between -10dBmV to 10dBmV (according to Netgear). They came out a second time and fixed it. We no longer have the poor performance from multiple devices. It solved the lack of range with the Satellite. I'm considering buying another one for the garage.

Solved All Our Problems

Satellite unit does not pair wirelessly this product is garbage.  I bought the DOCSIS router and 2 satellites mesh AP's neither of which would sync up.  Trash!!

This product doesn't work

Good clear Wi-Fi. Full strength on all our phones. Even our Blink cameras log in quickly and more reliably!!

A lot of punch

Upgrading to Netgear Orbi Mesh system was a win for my whole house wifi. Easy installation with my broadband supplier and Netgear firmware update. Better speed than my old router.

Netgear Orbi System Upgrade

After unpacking and following the instructions to set it up I could not get the satellite to sync. with the router/modem.  6 hours of tech support resulted in my ticket being escalated to a higher level.  That tech support rep. took remote control of my computer and had the firmware for both units synchronized in 2 minutes, and I was up and running.  The coverage is wonderful; I have the satellite sitting 60' from the router modem and the connection is optimal resulting in the same performance as the router modem in similar proximity.

Can not sync.

Orbi was easy to set up - although our Xfinity activation was a challenge but not because of the orbi (Xfinity phone people problem).  We get great speeds all throughout the house.

Great product

As a non-techie, I took the chase of buying and setting up my cable modem myself. After downloading and registering on the app, the pictural setup instructions were flawless. I got it on the 1st try, amazing myself

A Non Techie

I've owned Netgear equipment for over 14 years and I am generally happy.  Netgear always provides the ability to see and allow/restrict access by device. I upgraded to the Orbi for Docsis 3.1 and combining the modem and wireless router into one.....the device enables gigabit internet speed (that is a hard limit for Docsis 3.0), looks slick, and I like the included satellite station.  The Orbi loses one star because Netgear lost/dropped the ability to disable broadcasting the Router ID (SSID) and there are really no other new included features for the wireless router.  So, it works, but nothing to get too excited about.

I was a little skeptical at first and had to be talked into purchasing this product, I am so thrilled that I did.  Easy installation.  Great coverage for all my devices throughout the entire  house.  Superb download speed. The Orbi app is a big plus.  A must have in your home especially if you work from home.

It took a while to get the firmware updated, but now it works great and very fast.

Orbi works great

This Orbi and Satellite immediately gave us faster WiFi and better coverage in parts of the house that were weak before even with range extenders. Wish I had bought it sooner.

Fast

I've just set it up. So far so good. It was easy to set up. The port and signal light locations are odd. The port for the cable connection is recessed making it hard to tighten. The cable is completely inaccessible once the power is plugged in. My previous Netgear routers fit on a windowsill. This one requires a larger footprint.

Hard to tighten Coaxial cable

It's very difficult and not user friendly to connect the satellites to the router. Need to make several attempts of powering on and off each satellite before it gets connected even though the satellite is in the same area as the router. Kept getting the magenta light error to move the satellites closer to the router.

Satellites are Difficult to Connect

The Netgear Orbi WiFi DOCSIS 3.1 is very fast and reliable. Plus the app for your smartphone makes setting it up a breeze. Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

Very fast

Works a blast with the mesh wifi aspect. Can have the separate satellite used in the gaming room to have a wired connection and downloads have been great ever since. No more waiting hours for 1 game update and so on.

Lower mediacom bill

With one satellite downstairs  I get an excellent signal, where used to be a dead zone with my prior router.

Orbi mesh system

I purchased my orbi to save us some money on rental fees from xfinity, but what i got was so much more. I haven't had any lagging of twirling when we are streaming with the firestick. Very pleased with my internet speed.

We are VERY pleased with this purchase. It runs a scan multiple times throughout the day and alerts us of any concerns.

Peace of mind

We finally can connect to wifi on all floors! Living in a home built in the late 1800s, with more than 2 floors, has been a wifi challenge for MANY years! With Orbi, I can ditch the modem, router, two extenders, countless adapters and 200 feet of ethernet cable! Another convenience is that I do not have to juggle between 2.4G and 5G. The Orbi has provided a constant, seamless connection that has not dropped once! The simple setup with the Netgear Support team confirmed that I had the right product. No looking back!

Overall speed and connectivity to all my devices throughout my home is much improved over previous docsys 3.0 equipment. Very happy!

Fast speed

Setup not trouble free including ISP setup.  Got there.  Had an issue with the satellite as I didn't know firmware has to be done manually before the modem/router update.  Netgear support was quick to help.

So far so good

This is a great little system for someone who has a ho.e system and needs decent speeds. I have a 1g line and UT is handling it well. The only downside is the coverage and signal power coming in from provider. This system can only handle -7 to  7 and my signal is 10.5. Still ok but my wifi output is about 500-600mb vs the intended 900-1g. I would still recommend this system if you want to keep the budget down otherwise just spring for the high end set up.

Great internet upgrade

I got the Orbi6 when I moved into a new condo. It was quick to setup and get the satellite connected. It's super fast and I'm connected in every corner of my home?even on my deck.

Great product and coverage

I finally bit the bullet and upgraded. I got this one cus i am on xfinity and have a modest apartment and didnt need anything more. It was easy for me to connect and get it up and running. I did notice a drop in FPS (frames per second) in some gaming oddly .. compared to my old wifi modem, even tho i am hardwired in to it directly. That is the only reason i gave 4 stars. Over all i am happy with the ease of setting it up and its function!
