This Nikon 50mm f/1.8G definitely has the highest price-performance ratio. Small and lightweight. Great for portraiture, street, event, and wedding photography. The bokeh looks very soft and creamy at maximum aperture and takes a semi-round heptagonal shape when stopped down. Vignetting is heavy at maximum aperture but significantly reduced by f/2.0, and it is easy to fix in post-processing software. I enjoyed shooting with this lens in bright outdoor environments; it does a great job in challenging light. When you always keep the lens hood on the lens, you should have no problems shooting against very bright light sources. If you are looking for sharpness and AF performance, then get this lens. It is sharper than all of its predecessors, including the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G, at the largest apertures. I noticed distortion on this lens, but the more expensive primes, like the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G and 50mm f/1.4D, also have a moderate amount of visible distortion. This lens will work on FX or DX cameras, although I recommend using the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G DX for everyday photography on DX sensors instead due to the shorter focal length (the Nikon 50mm has an equivalent field of view of a 75mm lens when mounted on a DX camera)

Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. This lens is awesome and it goes with me everywhere. It's easy and straight forward and I would recommend it for novice photographers who need an unintimitating lens that will give you the courage to experiment and grow.

Great lens, and even better and faster service. The included ND filter on the sale was worth it a I eventually will get a stronger ND filter and this let me get an idea of shooting with it.

Great Prime Lens for my Nikon 7500. It does well as expected, but only 4 stars because it's very tight getting on and off the camera. Unlike other lenses that seem to be smooth and easy to add/remove. The quality, however, holds up as expected.

Great lens and the bonus filters was a nice add on. As always Adorama staff were helpful on the phone and the goods were well packed and mailed quickly. This is why Adorama is my first spchoice in new camera gear.

I love this lens on my D5600. I had become lazy with shooting with zoom lenses on my camera for their convenience. I was really missing out on some fantastic photos before using this lens. It is sharp, sharp, sharp! I can shoot in low light conditions that none of my zooms could ever work in. This lens and the 35mm f/1.8 have completely sold me on Nikon prime lenses. Thanks Nikon!

If one owns an FX camera, one should own a 50mm prime lens capable of low-light photography without skyrocketing the ISO, which Nikon?s 50mm, f/1.8 lens provides at a price that won?t break the bank. Opening the aperture produces fine bokeh for added pizazz, and the lens? light weight is appreciated when using a big camera like a Nikon D750. Great lens; great price; great results?Need I say more?

Better Than Expected

This lens was recommended to me by my friend after I was complaining about shooting in low light for indoor sports. It is very inexpensive, so I bought it. I love this lens. It is so useful, and it has helped me produce some phenomenal pictures in low light. The depth of field has a very large range, so it is very versatile. The build is good, nothing special, just a standard plastic structure. The autofocus is accurate and fast; perfect for close-up sports. However, I use this lens now for s...

Nifty Fifty

My first lens was a 50 and I never liked the perspective being neither here nor there. But with a wide and a tele zoom pair, it's useful to fill the gap. Also, sometimes you just need a faster lens. At the price, this will serve those purposes. The lens is small, light and easy to carry for those occasions. It's a shame Nikon doesn't put in VR but can't complain at the price.
