Excellent Lens
I have 6 Nikon lenses in various focal lengths and this one is a absolute gem. You can spend $1000. on another Nikon, Sigma, or Tamron lens and not get the sharpness, quietness, and fast focus this lens delivers. Yes, it's non VR, but for shooting with a tripod or bracing, this is the lens you want since vr needs to be off. I've captured sharp images at it's full 300mm length and they look great. Fun, Far Reaching Lens
I've had this lens for about 6 years as I bought it with my very first Nikon Camera. Over the years, as I have learned and grown as a photographer, this lens has continued to perform and deliver. With a little patience and practice even without a tripod, shooting at 300mm is fun, provided there is enough light to allow one to shoot at fast shutter speeds. The included photo was taken with the Nikon D3400 and this lens.
