I recently bought this Novation Launchkey Controller as a means of exploring/learning about music creation. I'm no way experienced with playing musical instruments and figured this would be a great starting point. Although it took a bit to setup, the overall program is easy to use and produced some really cool noises. It's a great device if you're looking for something simple, easy to transport, functions well, and gives you enough options to create music. Despite this, I do wish the device had speakers (you hear the notes through your computer) and could have acted more like a keyboard without needing a computer to function.

I use Logic for my music creations. This MIDI controller connected seamlessly with my iMac and software. I like the size of the keyboard, it stows away easily in my room when not in use. I don't really use the pads, but maybe will in the future. Overall I was looking for something simple to use with my software and I found what I was looking for!

Probably b/c I'm a noob at all this, I did not find the use of this machine as easy as the videos and description tell you. I'm trying to use it with Abelton Lite after I gave up on connecting it to Reaper. However the controls are sturdier than I expected given a lot of the comments I found online. It seems like it will be easy to operate, but there is just a huge learning curve to Abelton. I like the size, and the number of controls. The machine is surprisingly light, and I could imagine a nice carrying case would make this an easily transportable controller.

The keyboard is awesome. Only "flaw" would be that I think the touch pads aren't as sensitive as I would like but really good keyboard
