Warning... This is my experiment and not an intended use case for the Capture Clip. It is working well for me. Just passing this along. This is my third capture clip. One for my backpack, another for my belt, both of them using the ProPad. For this one I wanted to have it as a quick connect to the Slide Strap. I used two nylon spacers along with the PD Anchors so that when I put on the strap I could use the CLIP to connect to the camera and not ever have any Anchors flopping around on my A7cii camera when I was not using a strap. The Anchor Loops pivot around the spacers and are not crushed by the Capture Clip. Of course, this means that I carry the camera with the strap attached to the bottom, which is what I prefer. I was careful to size the spacers properly as well as tighten the Clip so to ensure nothing ever comes loose. I know this was not the intended way to use these products, but it works perfectly for me. I have tightened the bolts on the Clip a few times as I am making sure nothing slips. I'll tweak the torque on the bolts until it no longer needs tightening. Maybe PD can engineer something to do something similar to what I have here. I do like how I can put on the strap and then clip on the camera and not have anchors remain on my camera when not using the strap. I hope this makes sense.

I do use many different variations of capture clip and many different generations. They all work great.

I bought this capture clip in August to carry my camera during my moutaineering outings. This product is great, it is easy to use and reliable. The only important improvement point relates to the length of the screws, i.e., in case the backpack harness is too thick for the clip with its standard screws, they will unscrew little by little until the clip ultimately falls off the backpack, which can end up in a drama. Fortunately a second set of larger screws is available for such situations, but the instructions are not clear enough re. which set to use in various situations and the risks incurred.

Don't use it often but in a pinch it's great to have without having to put camera away and potentially miss wildlife shots, especially on backpacking bag. Have an ultra light Osprey and don't notice it pulling to one side with Nikon Z6iii and 24-120 lens. Somewhat heavy set up so still remains comfortable

So this is so nearly right and might be great for others but I struggle to clip my camera back in as I have attached PD anchor links to the base plate e.g. I have a clutch hand grip and or slide attached. The good news is it's quick to release when I am hiking and spot a bird for example. I have tried it on a belt and while the clutch can take the weight fin it just isn't that comfortable with a full frame mirrorless and a big lens.

I've been using the Peak Design Clip for a month and it keeps impressing me. It's incredibly easy to use and gives me full confidence when carrying my camera. The build quality is superb, the design is clean, and it works flawlessly. It's a game-changer for street photography - no more neck strain or awkward handling. With a simple click, my camera is securely attached to my backpack strap, and my hands are free. Highly recommended. Once you try it, you won't go back

I waited 11 months to buy it ! I should have not waited I had the plate with the clutch CL 3. I ordered the capture 3 days after having used the clutch and the capture is just an amazing piece of metal. It is well designed and built as well as discret. I have put it on my bag's strap or on my belt and often forgot I have it... Although I believe this product to be perfect, may be an additional safety notch would be a nice addition for clumsy people (based on the idea of a rotative locking system - See Ghosts gun holsters for IPSC. (I have seen angry comments from clumsy people:))

I've been using the camera clip on my backpack and belt to have quick acess while on the move. I found that it didn't work super well on the strap of a thick, padded hiking backpack strap. It was on the upper limit of the clip's width and it was hard getting it onto the strap without it sliding. After it is set, you are good to go, but it was kind of a pain attaching it to the strap. Additionally, I had one occasion where I was wearing the clip on my belt with the camera attached while walking in mountainous trerrain in Sumatra, Indonesia and I had a couple of instances where the release button was clicked accidentally by my hip/leg and the camera got loose. This is a good tool and does save you a lot of time and helps you keep your camera super accessible at all times. Maybe if you use it with a PD bag you will have a better experience with it. I have somewhat stopped using it since these experiences.

I have the capture clip attached to the strap of my backpack. I don't worry about the camera coming loose from the capture clip or the clip coming loose from my backpack. The design is well thought out. It would be nice if the quick release button was 3-4mm longer in order to get a better grip. That button must be rotated to unlock and allow the camera to be removed from the clip. I like that Peak does stand behind their warranty. Once I proved purchase and ownership of the clip, they shipped the replacement part. They were very good in providing status of the shipping.

I always struggle with the camera swinging on its strap when I walk or hike. With the Capture I am able to keep my camera on my belt with little movement and less stress about hitting something with my lens. I love my Capture.

I am a repeat customer of peak design. I had the same spectacular experience with the capture that I've had with their other products. Exceptional design, quality, and value. Somehow, they seem to think of everything. Their user set up videos are exceptional.

I put one on most of my backpacks and slings so that I don't forget! It keeps my camera safe and sound. I had one mishap that reminded me to use the "lock" feature - my camera fell in a lake! I also like to check the bolts/screw as they tend to rotate loose. If you've got tips please share!

The product is great but not compatible with every backpack. Unfortunately I lost mine somewhere as it fell off from the strap which was slightly too large to accommodate it.

I bought this to replace another capture clip from a Chinese seller. This one is MUCH better. I really like the feature that allows you to lock the plate into the clip. One thing I'm not really a fan of is the strap width is smaller than the strap on my camera bag, so the straps of the bag get a little torn up. Overall, an amazing, innovative product.

I use this to get the weight of my camera off my neck and onto my backpack (and thus distributed around my back and hips). It is also brilliant for stopping that annoying camera bounce as you walk. It is a very clever design that stays rigidly in place but it easy to use with the little release button and clear click into place. One of my most favourite bit of camera tech.

Bought this for a trip to Hawaii to put onto my Peak Messenger. It's fantastic, my camera is secure and easy to get to but not always taking up one of my hands!

I got the clip last winter and finally got to use it on small hiking trip about 2 weeks ago near Cumberland Falls in KY. We hiked about 9 miles over 2 days. I connected the clip to the left strap on my backpack style camera bag. The clip is a comfortable and convenient way to carry a camera (Canon R5 + RF24-105) when walking. It's as out of the way as it could be and still be readily accessible. Until recently I was shooting weddings and for work like that, the clip probably isn't the best choice because other setups allow faster access. But neither the belt/holster or dual camera harness options would be good at all for walking in the woods or tight trails. I took many more photos on this last trip because I didn't have to stop, remove my bag, open it, shoot, and put it all back. The straps on my camera bag don't have a chest strap to connect them. I was comfortable enough without one but it would be better with one. I had water bottle in my camera bag on the same side as the camera clip and it pulled to that side a little. I finally moved the water bottle to the opposite side and it was better balanced and didn't feel like the left side was trying to slide off my shoulder.

After having purchased several other items from Peak Design, I bought the Capture as part of a bundle because, hey, who doesn't love saving money! It's super easy to clip the camera in and remove it but takes a bit of practice to do it smoothly with a larger or heavier lens, which I think is because the lens affects my sense of the location of the camera's attaching plate. I think it's especially useful with a point and shoot camera when attached to a backpack strap.
