The Rode pic pro recording quality is good. The automatic on/off saves you from wasting the battery life if The camera is not in use. The downside of the mic is the size is too big. It blocked the viewfinder when you mount the mic onto the camera.

Fantastic microphone- be aware it will not plug and play into an iPhone - even with the Apple 3.5 to lightning adapter. You will need to buy an additional adapter.

Good mic all around

I have been very happy with this mic, the auto on and off has been a life saver, as has running in safety mode. I had to get a cold shoe extender/adapter for it to fit in the Sony Ax 100 hot shoe due to the camera's design. It works great with all my other cameras without the adapter. Rechargeable batter is good as well. Audio-wise it gets a little room verb but not bad at all, sound is true to many of the samples I listened to before purchasing.

Good mic. Wrong deadcat included.

The Videomic Pro Plus is a good mic for the price. The auto on/off and split level recording are invaluable. One important note: if you buy any of the package deals here on Adorama, the deadcat that comes with it is not the correct one. They are including the deadcat made for the Rode Videomic Pro, not the Pro PLUS. It doesn't really fit the Plus. You can force it on, but it's not the same as the one that is made for the Plus, which works much better.
