So far i have been very pleased with this lens. The image quality is amazing in both video and photos. Due to the manual focus and apature, its not ideal for switching between video and photos without changing all your settings. The image quality is top notch, and unless you are going to spend ALOT more... you wont get much more out of a lens. Would recommend for anyone who is wanting a good lens with out a flashy brand name.

I absolutely love this lens. I bought the Nikon D600 body only after deciding not to buy it with the standard kit lens. I did lots of research and wanted a prime lens that I can mainly use for video work. I was surprised by the quality. Its pretty big and heavy and the results from this was amazing. See my test footage here: https://vimeo.com/67429053 Its incredibly sharp and produces beautiful bokeh. I like the de-clicked aperture that produces smooth focusing. Also, I have to add that it survived a very high impact (accidental) drop test! I didn't have my bag zipped up properly and the camera, with lens attached, flew a few meters and landed lens first on cement. The fall was so loud I thought the glass would be shattered in peaces! Instead the body of my camera got hurt and the lens only had a few scratches on the body. So this is definitely a well built lens made to last! The delivery to South Africa by Adorama was prompt too, and I received my refurbished Nikon with lens and other goodies within a few days! Definitely recommended for someone who wants a good prime lens for video but it is very good for photography too.

The Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine Lens for Nikon F with geared, manual focus and aperture control rings, is optimized for digital cinematography. The aperture ring has been "de-clicked" for smooth iris pulls and depth of field markings provide an essential aid to focus pullers. Optically, this lens is identical to the Rokinon 35mm f/1.4, which is known for its excellent sharpness and contrast.
Hybrid aspherical lenses and multi-layer coating produce sharply defined images with a minimum of flare and ghosting. There is slight vignetting at T1.5 on a full-frame sensor but it is nearly gone by T2.0 and APS-C or MFT sensors will probably never see it. The 35mm lens focuses as close as 12" (30.48 cm) from the lens.
