Horizontal only surround sound that lacks depth
The sound quality is ok, much better than any hollow sounding turtle beach. I tested the Sony wireless golds to see how they compare to my aging, nearly, true surround sound headset. The verdict, not as good as my nine year old head set.
The sony surround only seems to function on an X & Y plane, what's worse is that there no difference in enemy foot steps that are a virtual 5 feet away or 20 feet away. What's worse than that is there is no difference in the Z plane. Whether my enemy is above or below me, it sounds as if the are right beside me.
The VSS was about as disorienting to me as wearing a stereo headset backwards.
