Intuitive set-up & menus

Setting the alarm and (initial) time is very straightforward. It would be a huge improvement to display the radio 'call number' vs. fumbling with the rotary tuner dial. Still, excellent value. One issue: the battery indicator has a diagonal line across the battery icon on the main screen. Hopefully it is simply charging for first time. Radio sound quality is not great, but average for a clock-radio.

Great features. Great value.

I bought this model, ICF-CD815 about 30 years ago. This is the second identical model I own. Note that I could not find this model number in your drop down list. The first set gave out after 30 years. Yesterday the CD player finally stopped working, probably because the lid will not close properly. I have used the CD player on this set at least 1,000 times. I loved this model so much that I bought a "spare" 30 years ago in case the first one broke. Great set. I love it.

It's OK; not quite as nice as I had hoped

I purchased this mostly for the radio. I'm disappointed that there is no bright display of the radio station you're on--instead there is this TINY (repeat: TINY) faint "dial" on top of the unit. Also, the buttons are so tiny, you could never see them in the dark, nor could you distinguish them with your fingertips. The radio OFF button is utterly not obvious. Come on Sony....

The great coverup???

I took the time to write a review in 5/18, apparently Sony was not happy with what I had to say, as it has now gone missing!!!!???? So to repeat The "tuner" is a tiny little ANALOG number, exactly like you would find on a 1960's transistor radio!! There are NO presets To change a station, you must use one hand to hold magnifying glass, one hand to turn the tiny analog wheel and one hand to hold the radio @an angle The radio does NOT keep accurate atomic time, is always ahead of all other clocks, setting is almost impossible There is NO way to know what station is playing, and as said before changing station is a complicated, full time issue Sony has replaced my original radio, with another with the same identical issues My reason for complaining is because Sony customers are perfectionists who are willing to pay extra for high end products, if this radio is where Sony is going, we all, the customers and company have a huge problem.

Died after 2 weeks

I bought two of these clocks for me daughters. They look great, but after less than one month one of the clocks just stopped working.

Dual Alarms
Set two separate wake times with the dual alarm feature.

No Power, No Problem
In the event of a power failure, or if you disconnect the AC power cord to move the clock, the No Power, No Problem backup battery system will maintain your clock and alarm settings, ensuring that the time is always accurate and the alarms will sound at the appointed time.

Gradual wake alarm
Normal alarm sounds with a preset volume are either too low to wake you up, or are so loud that you are awakened abruptly. The gradual wake alarm feature starts with a subtle, low volume that gradually increases to a reasonably high level in order to gently wake you from sleep.

Adjustable brightness control
With the adjustable brightness control you can ensure you are easily able to read the display during the day and not be distracted at night because the display is too bright when trying to sleep.

Programmable sleep timer
