Quite handy

Perfect for my setup as all my lenses require the FTZ adapter. It gives a little bit extra support to the lenses, especially when I have the heavier 70-200mm f/2.8.

Won't AF with older lenses

Works with modern lenses with AF/AE/VR in the lens. For older lenses with AF drive screws (requiring in-camera-body AF drive screwdrivers,) only electronic exposure is controllable in the camera. Probably fine for Nikon shooters with recent VR lenses. Not for my purposes and legacy glass.

SmallRig Lens Adapter Support for Nikon FTZ Mount Adapter 2244 is designed to take the lens's weight off of your camera's mount to protect the lens mount and ensure safe. The adapter only works with Smallrig Nikon Z6 and Z7 cage 2243. It is fixed on the front of cage via two m4 screws. The bottom features a 1/4"-20 threaded hole allows for mounting tripod plate with another threaded hole on the bottom of cage together to keep your setup balance when using a cinema lens.
