I bought this for my granddaughter for Christmas. When I first purchased it, I opened it, charged it and put some apps on which I thought she would like, I then shut it off. When she opened it for Christmas, I tried for 45 minutes to connect to wi fi. I finally was able to get connected was not impressed with the tablet at all. Was very slow and buggy. I set up the Samsung Kids subscription and that won't even work. You click on a downloaded game and it won't respond. I downloaded an app for an augmented reality book I bought her and that didn't work at all. I have it downloaded on my Note 10+ and it works beautifully. It also ran very warm.

The kids software that comes with it is not intuitive and frequently locks up. Of course this worthless software comes with a monthly subscription. If you are buying this for kids, don't be fooled by the Samsung name, the low price, and the included games. It probably is useful as a low cost tablet for beginners, but not as marketed for young kids. I was able to download kids games from the Play Store that were much more intuitive, fun, and stable, but it is an out of date tablet, is slow and still locks up occasionally. The kids play with our iphones. There must be better low cost options.

I bought 2 of these before Christmas for my 7 year old and 4 year old. They very quickly took them, but the first concern was who's was which. I wish there was more options for color of tablet/silicone case. Second concern was the Samsung Kids app, you get a month free and that's it. I feel that if I'm buying a tablet specifically for kids, it should have the app without extra fees. Third, the micro SD cards do not click in not matter what you do. I've had to tape the flap shut so they don't pop out. Fourth, memory (RAM), there are some apps that my children can't run because it doesn't have enough memory. I've removed apps, closed apps, etc, but they got frustrated quickly and were used for maybe a month and then put aside for other electronics/toys. Fifth, battery life/charging. These quickly run out of battery life, and when attempting to charge, if you are on any outlet/power strip with another cord plugged in, they do not charge. I had a similar problem with an earlier Samsung tablet, but that didn't happen until almost 2-3 years of owning it. That all said, I believe this is a good tablet for younger kids (4 and under) who will use it minimally each day.

...until the 2019 update. Can't change parental timer settings without WiFi. Timer intervals WAY less useful than they were before the update. Apps often fail to appear on the home screen. We've only had the tablet for 4 months and the update made it feel like a clunky older tablet. Total fail on the upgrade. My 6-year-old loved it until then.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter for Xmas a year ago. I should have bought a different tablet. I watched tons of Youtube reviews, read all of kinds of reviews, but I still regret this purhcase. Here is why: It runs on KitKat. Did you know andriod has diffrent platforms? I didn't. Now I do. The Endless apps (Endless ABC, Endless #s, Endless reader aren't supported. Those are some great apps... and that is just the tip of the ice burg as to the apps that are not supported. I can no longer add movies to my daughters collection. We travel a lot and movies are awesome for road trips. We have a SD card in to expand the memory. Every movie we have is on the chip, so why in the world can't I add more movies. THE MOVIES ANYWHERE APP IS NO LONGER OPTIMIZED FOR THIS PLATFORM. I am beyond irritated. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra dough and get a better tablet.... Kinda wishing I went with the amazon fire tablet now. Long story short. This tablet no longer fits our needs and is in fact, no longer really "in date" for the latest and greatest apps out there.

It was great while it lasted, but recently we have had nothing but problems with the thing not powering on any longer. It charged and now nothing. Seems doing google searches for fixes all come to same conclusion, if button combination doesn't reset it, open it up and remove the power cable from the battery to the device. Taking it in to get it repaired over and over is no fun option either. Tell me there is a better solution Samsung, seriously contact me.

I have THREE of these tablets and I love them. We have tried other tablets that were supposed to be kid friendly and they ended up being frustrating for my kids or ridiculously slow. With this tablet my kids can do everything themselves, they're simple to operate and I don't have to change games for them every 5 minutes. It's great for long road trips. I loved my kids' so much I bought one for my niece too.

We could never access the games and my credit card keeps getting charged for the service. It was really only useful for a month and then we started getting charged over and over for the service. Still couldn’t use it after being charged multiple times and calling customer support. Trying to get out of the subscription now. Would just purchase an iPad and not this.

This is not family friendly as the product name would suggest. It will not work with Family Link from Google. So you can not adequately control the apps and access on it. Also, it doesn't work with some of the cooler kids applications like the Kano Coding app needed for the Harry Potter coding Wand.

I got this tablet for my grandson along with a car mount. After less than 2 months, it would no longer charge. Samsung has had the tablet twice now and have yet to fix the issue but still have the tablet. I'm so angry about this. I am a loyal Samsung user for their products and this device is and the support i have received are terrible.

All of the games are in the Samsung Kids App that you CANNOT use even the "Free" trial on without putting in your credit card number. So it doesn't come with any games. Only basic apps like a clock and a calculator. The description made it sound so wonderful, but it's really just a regular Android tablet with a bumper on it. I just downloaded stuff off the Play Store. I could have bought a cheaper Kids Tablet if all I was going to use was the Play Store.

I got this for my daughter when she was 4 now shes 7 and the tablet is in freat condition still. After dropping it many time the rubber bumper actually works at keeping the tablet safe. I will be upgrading her tablet this year wish that samsung had another version of this tablet

I am very upset that I can't download educational games that my daughter likes to play. I have only had this tablet for 6 months and Goggle Play is telling me that the tablet isn't compatible. I feel duped. Spend the extra money and get a different tablet.

My son loves this tablet and so do I. This is my second time buying this tablet. I brought one a few years back but our home was broken in to and it was stolen. So this is the replacement. And I actually like this one better than the first one. I tried another brand of tablet because it was cheaper but my son, nor I liked it. I love this Samsung tablet.

This is the perfect tablet for my toddlers getting ready to start learning on electronics, easy games by age, or age appropriate videos, you control what they can see and do. when its not on kid mode its a regular tablet, which makes it perfect for adult and child, plus you can add up to 4 accounts I think. Great starter tablet that should last for years to come!

I am happy with the Samsung tablet, it allows a child to pick games in their age bracket and also allows parents to monitor the time they play on it. The tablet is very portable and the battery last a long time before a recharge.
