My games load quickly, and the installation and setup processes are efficient. I have not observed any issues with drive overheating, as temperatures consistently remain around 40 degrees Celsius. While 4 terabytes is a substantial capacity, the increasing size of modern games suggests that this may become a limiting factor in the future. The drive has been consistently detected upon every system startup.

Performance is what you'd expect from a tier 1 device. The speed is more than adequate for most use cases. I've had several other very reputable brands, and all of them have failed over time within a couple years. I've only ever had 1 samsung storage device fail, and it was a cheap SD card. I have never had a problem with the 20+ Samsung SSDs I've had. When you need reliability, Samsung is the choice. Bonus: The increased efficiency helps battery life in laptops, and allows more thermal headroom before thermal throttling

I bought my my high-end gaming laptop in 2022 with specs I knew would allow for future upgrades (future-proofing). I performed my major upgrade ( my system board already has a couple SATA NVMe 4.0 slots (Bus speeds are still the same in the '25/'26 model years) As are the RAM speeds. CPU was an I9. After the RAM upgrade, I knew the SATA drive upgrade for my Windows 11 Pro install should be 2TB vs. 1 TB. So, I moved my Samsung 1TB 980 pro into my secondary NVMe SATA slot. Then I installed my new Samsung 2TB NVMe 990 Pro into SATA slot 2 and installed Windows 11Pro. After upgrading firmware on my drive and system board. I installed all new laptop factory software and drivers. Performed all updates and ensured I upgraded my Samsung Magician. I did the same with my video card (which was still midway in the top if its class) Then ran benchmarks on my laptop and I was actually amazed. I did a test on my new Samsung 990 Pro and was extremely impressed. Overall, my laptop was as if I had gone out and bought a new 2025 High-end gaming machine. Windows 11 pro, my programs, games, office applications, malware programs, high speed internet all start-up and run as if i just bought another 4800.00 gaming laptop. Now, im good for another 3 or 4 years. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Samsung, my future-proof plan worked better than I had predicted...

Very fast and got it for a very good price in walmart! It is compatible with any system that supports nvme and it has never failed me at all, its very cooled.

The capacity on the ssd is great I'm able to save all my games. It has been extremely reliable with fantastic performance cooling and speed.

This SSD has been the best SSD I have ever bought. I have been using it on my PS5, and I can download all my games without problems, they run fast and never have any lagging or any other kind of problems.

I have to say, I'm glad I bought these when I did! The 990 Pro 2TB is fast. Pairing up four of these in RAID 0 on a PCIe Gen5 motherboard, I get 22,000 Read speed, and pretty close to that in write speeds. Random R/W is all over the place, but the thoughtput is still higher than a single drive and has been highly reliable. I think combining four in this configuration may not have been the most cost effecient, at the time, but they are highly efficient drives without stepping into the 9100 Pro at PCIe Gen 5. I have a fifth for my OS and couldn't be happier!

This SSD is by far the fastest I've owned to date. I grew up watching the Internet be born, dial up days. To think then that we would have exceptional speed and stability like this in just 3 decades, it would've been so outrageous. Temps never get hot, I have never had a driver issue, or an identity crisis with the motherboard.

Reliability is not as amazing as it should be. I believe that our devices should be taken without and hiccups and returned in a timely manner aswell as the availability in other regions.

This was a great drive while it lasted. Blazing fast speeds for gaming or heavy projects. Lasted 14 months and then it deleted itself.

It's a great memory card. I do wish they were a little bit cheaper but I get the current state of things. Overall I have not had any issues with it and am looking forward to getting more.
