I actually had this scope for some time (7 yrs), with that I never left a review, this is simply an amazing scope, set it and forget it is spot on , 400 yards is easily achievable with this scope , buy a quality mount ( very important) and enjoy, I still have the original battery and it's still great, the glass is so clear, I've actually grown to expect from Steiner, you get what you pay for . There are cheaper scopes with more power, but when you have to count on it , I always depend on Steiner, plus I'm worth it. I have it on the Tavor Sar, absolutely my go to rifle and optic combo, got 3 Tavors all with Steiner

I just recently received this item, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality. The scope took no time to get zeroed and has stayed true ever since. Looking forward to putting the reps in on this LPVO.

Very well built, impressive clarity, but it's a Steiner (German Engineering), of course it's all these things! G2 sight is good from my perspective, for red dot snobs, it might not be your cup of tea, for me it works.

Great quality optic and bright illuminated reticles. The first one I purchased has the red dot and crosshairs for deer hunting, where I never see anything more than 75 yards or so. Most often it's up close and personal and on the move. Great scope for quick target acquisition. Second one I purchased has the green G1 reticle. This will go on top of a ROAM lightweight .308 and be used for hunting as well. I'll probably have a third at some point. Great value

I can't understand how people can give this rifle scope a negative or someone negative review the thing is absolutely outstanding I have the one with the G1 reticle and let me tell you something it's like having The Best of both worlds a wonderful it's like having a close quarters combat Red Dot and a magnifier all in one package you cannot beat this combination the G1 reticle is designed for close quarters combat and let me tell you something it works I love it anyone who gives the G1 reticle a negative comment is because they haven't used it and they don't know how to use the right way

I am a retired Forensic Examiner by trade and have many years of experience with firearms and sport shooting enthusiast. The Steiner P4Xi-1-4x 24 provides an exceptional range of features for the cost. The optic clarity and solid adjustable capabilities quickly convinced me that this was a top-notch tactical scope. Small and compact, it weighs in at 17.3 ounces ? just over a pound which excellent. The reticle is also illuminated with a bright center dot. During my research, before my purchase, I was able to use a friends Steiner T5Xi 1-5×24 at the range and it was impressive. I found the Steiner P4Xi to be the ideal tactical rifle scope that works extremely well for my personal shooting needs. After my research, it was easy for me to understand why the he Steiner P4Xi won the NRA's Shooting Illustrated Optic of the Year for 2018.

I bought this optic for duty use 3 years ago. After numerous missions this scope has been beat up during breaching, banged around during rescues, and in the trunk during a car accident getting rear ended in the freeway. This scope has never failed in any way and I?ve only ever had to make one zero adjustment, which was only .5 moa to the right. This scope replaced my aim point on my M4 and is very versatile going from entry work to DMR duties. Very minimal battery changes and clear glass. This scope just works very well and is durable and reliable.

I purchased this to install on a 16" AR-15 CAR and it has worked out very well. It has very good quality glass and I really like the reticle. The only complaint that I have is the same as I have seen other report and that is that the windage and elevation adjustments could be crisper. The clicks are not very positive so it is somewhat hard to make good adjustments.

Super bright dot, clean reticle, feels high quality, I prefer the matte finish to some of the scopes out there with a shinier one, relatively forgiving eye box, great! Had an issue with the throw lever that was swiftly resolved after contacting customer support. Highly recommended.

I bought this scope about a month ago and got it mounted on the gun I was going to use for deer hunting this week (our season is only about a week. I went to the range Friday to get the scope zeroed and ready to go. I had some issues with getting a solid zero but assumed it must have been my shooting. It turned dark before I felt 100% confident in my zero so I decided to get up Saturday morning (first day of the season) and ensure I had a solid zero before I hunt. When I went back to the range, I found that something was wrong with the scope. It was extremely blurry when turned to 1X and no adjustments seem to help. There is also lots of scope shadow. The picture below is exactly what it looks like looking through the scope. It’s so bad that I can’t even see what is on the other end of it when I’m looking through the scope. In addition it sounds like something is loose inside. I have taken extremely good care of the scope so far. It’s never been dropped, banged, or even bounced around in a car. It’s only been taken to the range twice and both times it was kept in a padded case on the way. I would think that it would be way more durable than that considering how expensive it was. The $80 Nikon I recently got rid of took way more abuse than it and I never had a problem with it. The turrets on that scope were better as well. I have been having a really hard time getting a response from anyone at Steiner as well. Every time I call the waiting list is extremely long and nobody has answered my online request. I think next time I’ll stick with Vortex. Their optics seem to hold up much better and they have much better customer service. Thanks for wasting my 2019 deer season!

The wiring to the red dot has become dislodged from the reticle and is now off center. This occurred after 40-50 rounds of .223. It becomes a more prominent issue as the magnification is increased.

I've wanted a LPVO for over two years but didn't want to spend Razor or Khales money. I finally decided to get the P4xi and I'm super glad I did. It's crystal clear, great FOV and a good eye box. The price is more than fare for the quality. I love this scope!

I have one mounted on my 16" ar15 in an ADM 1301 mount. Pro Price Great glass even with my eyes Great illumination(haven't tested in extreme bright daylight Great warranty Cons Knobs are mushy, nothing feels positiv, the clicks are not that loud to me, makes me think its between a click. Heavy No threading for a sunshade or killflash Magnification dial is stiff, you have to have a throw lever If you run a rear lense cover forget about adjusting your focus ring Eye relief for me is lacking as is the eyebox I really want to get another, don't get me wrong I did rag on it but it's still a good optic. Yet the positivity of the dials and need for a throw lever really makes it hard for me to quantify another. That said I would still suggest it.

First off it's truly, undeniably, absolutely Aimpoint daylight bright. Today was a sunny and clear fall day and the dot was more than bright enough on the second dimmest daylight setting. At its brightest the dot was visible clearly when looking about 15 20 deg off from straight into the sun. I can shoot it as fast as I can a red dot on the baseline timed drills I do to track progress. By that I mean single shots and pairs from low ready to a 3x5 card at 5 yards and transitions from one 9" plate to another 3 yds apart 7 yds away. The reticle is only a couple hundreds of a sec slower without illumination. Super usable unless it's very dark. Its central thickness is for me the perfect compromise between outright speed and precision for the uses this scope is meant for. Shooting USPSA targets at 100 and 160 yds on 1x was very easy, getting torso hits quickly from prone with and without illumination. The turrets aren't ultra crisp. And you know what? Who cares. You zero the center of the reticle at your distance of choice, cap them, and leave them alone. This isn't a precision rifle scope. I don't know WTF is the point of using this aspect of the scope to compare it to similar scopes. The illumination dial is also not super crisp. It does feel like it belongs on the dash of a BMW or Mercedes Benz and unless you have gorilla hands you can clearly feel it go from off to on. I can't say much about the BDC because I haven't been to a place far enough to use it yet. If you want to know how to use it and the moa that each stadia corresponds to, google "Steiner reticle guide" and save/print it. Two more reticle related items that need to be addressed Battery life: I don't know what it is and I don't care. Here's why: 1. The scope works just fine with a dead battery. If there's enough light to PID a threat, there's enough light to see the black reticle. It would have to be a really dark forest, really late in the day before the reticle is lost on a deer or other game animal. 2. CR2032 batteries are cheap and available everywhere. I picked up a two-pack at Walgreens just today on my way home from the range. If it's a big issue, buy pistol grip with storage and stick a couple in there. 3. It's not that hard to remember to turn the light on and off. If you forget to turn it on, see #1 above. If you forget to turn it off and and it dies, see #1 above. Forward light emission: Zero if you adjust the illumination appropriately for the ambient light conditions. What I mean is that the only way you'll see red out the front end is if you set the dot at a setting that only an idiot would use, like full daylight brightness inside a building or in dim area. Oh and one last thing: GLASS. You can see clearly through it with no distortion on the edges regarless of magnification. That's all I care about. This is the LPVO that convinced me to replace the reflex sight on a carbine.

I purchased this optic from my dealer at the same time I purchased a new rifle. I intend to use this combination in 3 gun competition. The reputation of Steiner and the clarity of this optic were the selling features. I am extremely happy with it.

I don't normally write these on company websites, but this optic deserves its review. I cannot describe the clarity this optic has. Compared to every other optic I own, this one, hands down, is clearer than $1000 optics from competitors. It currently sits on my Mossberg MVP Scout in 308 and it feels like injustice putting such a nice optic on such a chunky gun. However, come deer season, we will see if I can make it happen!

I deliberated a long time before getting this scope. I looked at every brand of low variable power scope I could find. I am so pleased with this scope because it's reticle is clear and sharp and so is the illumination. The illumination cap that unscrews to change the battery was very difficult to unscrew. It unscrews counter clockwise. I have no complaints with the clicks of the MOA knobs. Some reports say they're a little mushy. This scope is just as good as the ones in the higher price ranges. Highly recommend.

This optic is very well built with excellent glass and sturdy construction. The reticle is easy to use and can be used without illumination. I put this optic on my Colt 6920 and I have been taking 300 yard shots with ease with the 4x power. An excellent buy and I highly recommend this optic.

The P4xi is astonishing, best glass for half the price of others I looked at, better than my Leupold VX3 and as good as my Steiner Binoculars . I love this scope. The red dot is truly daylight bright.

I recently purchased this to mount on a BCM rifle. It has been through a Frank Proctor class and has several thousand rounds through it. The scope has been banged around and has not been "babied." I have shot it from 1 to 460 yards. The dot is perfect for both CQB and long-distance shooting. My only complaint is the "mushey" feel between intensity level settings. I would definitely buy this scope again. It is much better than my department-issued Leupold VXR-Patrol.

Excellent clear scope, nice finish lenses are clear and not too heavy for a ar-15 type rifle, compact in length mounted mine in a larue tactical mount 30 mm And has been a great combo, bought scope from optics planet after calling them and getting there best price policy couldn't resist. It's defiantly worth the small amount difference in price compared to other quality scope manufactures for the quality and clarity you get with this scope. You will not be disappointed Cons: didn't come with throw lever which honestly is needed with this scope it is very hard to turn for magnification. Also out to 300 yards scope does fine on targets but I have bad vision and could have used a 1-6 scope instead of the 1-4 power. But don't let that make you buy a cheaper 1-6 scope cause outside a vortex razor there isn't anything under 1500 dollars that I have seen to be this clear.

I purchased my P4xi with my Eotech refund money, and I couldn't be happier. The reticle is awesome in 1x for cqb and with an ability to give you 4x zoom it's the best of both worlds.

This optic is superb. It is amazing that they are selling this scope for the price that they are. The glass for this optic was confirmed to be of the same quality as their 1-5 which is far more than double the price!! Im almost afraid to put that in the review with the thought that they will realize that and double the price. The clarity of the glass is unrivaled by any glass I've looked through and keeps that clarity all the way out to 4 magnification. The dot is crisp and draws the eye and does not have any ghosting. The crosshair is simple yet extremely useful although I do wish it had windage marks. The included throw lever also seems to be of very high quality and is easy to install. As others have said the only real cons are the "mushiness" of the dials. Its not a big enough deal for me to think about it but I do wish they had made them a little more positive. Overall an amazing deal and I will be buying at least one more while these scopes stay at this price and are readily available. You WONT be disappointed with your purchase.

Competition Scope
By Dcp0311
I bought this scope around a month ago to use in service rifle matches. I was a little concerned since I read most people set the elevation and windage then cover the turrets and forget them. Due to the nature of service rifle matches the turrets have to be turned often and need to be reliable. I had a malfunction 5 rounds in to the first string of fire and attempted to clear it everyway I knew. This consisted of slamming the buttstock on the ground and finally using the heel of my boot to at...
