Very bright but don't buy the remote

I bought this to use on a light stand in place of a 200 watt A.C. light and it's just as bright but when I tried using the optional 9 Channel Remote Control (MFR: TL-BTR) with it, the battery in the light died in no time and it was turned off most of that time! Apparently the remote keeps the circuitry active and actually drains the light's battery even while it's not lit! This was very frustrating when I used it recently on a very important corporate presentation and the presenter kept having the light flash off and on while they were tying to talk. Not good for business!

Quality video light

This is the second one I bought. I always like to have a back-up. Works great at wedding receptions. I like the fact that you can set the color balance. Some weddings might be in a tent in the summertime - by setting the color balance I have a nice balance to my video in the foreground as well as the background. It's also a very sturdy light. I once dropped it about 6 ft. on to a tile floor. It continues to work perfectly. The battery makes the light a little top-heavy when mounted to your camera. Just be sure that it is mounted securely. Very satisfied.

High intensity & focused throw = winner

Owning this light won't make you a better filmmaker. Or will it? It's made me a better one, because now it's so easy to do the right thing – add that rim light, dial in that fill, tweak that color temp – that I'm actually doing it, instead of thinking about it. Having a Bolt in your bag arms you with a powerful light that delivers on the promise that LED lighting has been whispering for years: cool light when you need it, where you need it, no cords attached.

The Core SWX TL-BT220R is a 220-watt output and was improved for convenience. It has an independent knob for color temperature between tungsten (3200k) and daylight (5600k) that means you no longer need to mix and match between two dials for the most accurate ambient light. Core SWX added a dial to change the brightness from 0% to 100% with no noticeable color shift. The BT220 is the same size as original Bolt BT200, but 10% brighter and 40% more power efficient, which means it will run longer on the same Sony L-series style batteries or with on-board batteries through the powertap cable included. With the convenient on/off switch, you have the ability to maintain your light settings even when powering off the unit. The powertap cable is used for DC powering off of a standard 14.4v brick battery, as well as a built-in Sony L-series battery sled.
