The Thingyfy Pro X 40-60 mm Zoom Lens is one of the most serious fun lenses I?ve every put on a digital camera. Nor should one rule out its use on any older analog camera. (A compatible mount for a 6x6 or 6x7 would be a fun experiment, as some experimental vignetting and maybe more crucial sharpness might be the result.) Speaking of sharpness, no, it is not particularly sharp. I?ve come across other reviews that haven?t liked the fact that it is not sharp. But what did these people think they were purchasing? A Leica lens? It?s a pinhole. One of the joys of using it is the fact that it?s a great melding of the oldest method of capturing an image on earth with a cutting edge modern digital work flow. I hate to disappoint any purists, but one must resort to a digital editor in order to get the most of this lens. If I’m being honest, I bought this as a toy to play around with. Pro tip: it’s threaded for a filter and it’s a pinhole, so do yourself a favor and put a uv filter on it to keep the dust out.
