I am using this with a Nikon D7000 and could not be more pleased with this lens. I shoot a lot of friends and family, often indoors with available light. I tried a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 but on a DX camera it was difficult to use indoors, I always had to keep backing up which is difficult to do with running twins. Plus the 50-150mm focused closer which is a big plus. The focal range of the Sigma 50-150mm is the perfect focal range for the majority of photos I take. It is lighter and easier to use hand held than the larger fx lens. It has a nice solid feel to the construction and fast auto focus. I have found my lens image quality to be very sharp, even at 150mm. The only minor complaint is that it would be nice if it had a tripod collar (minor since it doesn't need it).

I got this lens to use for shooting wrestling events and it has the perfect focal length for indoor sports. The size and weight are perfect on my D200. It is not as heavy as the 70-200 2.8 but still has a solid build. On the second day of use one of my wrestlers dropped the camera on the hard wood floor lens first and it still functions perfectly.

Got this lens to use for portraits and I must say the it is great. The focus is super fast, and the colors are wonderful. My only concern is the weight. When I put this on my D700, it can get pretty heavy.

The Sigma Corporation is pleased to present the APO 50-150mm F2.8 II Ex DC HSM lens. This large aperture telephoto zoom lens is designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras with APS-C size sensors and its compact, lightweight body provides freedom of movement and versatility.
The minimum focusing distance of 100cm/39.4in. and the high-resolution power layout have improved the strength of the lens in close-up photography. This lens offers a large aperture of F2.8 and its large depth of field offers greater freedom of creativeexpression. It has a maximum aperture of F2.8.
Four SLD glass elements are used for maximum correction of chromatic aberrations. The super multi-layer lens coating reduce flare and ghosting and ensure sharp images throughout the entire zoom range. The lens design incorporates an inner focusing.
