Lens is expected quality for the price. However, the auto focus feature on the product I received does not work at all. The lens is properly attached, but does not respond at all.

I bought this “nifty fifty” lens to test drive before investing in a more expensive lens. However, I’m very pleased with the quality of images this lens produces. If you are looking for a lens with a low F stop, this could be it. With F1.8, this lens can produce some fantastic images with an impressive depth of field, and it works especially well in low light. This lens is great for portraits, landscape, close ups (although the minimum focusing distance is a little over 1 foot) and more. Very versatile, inexpensive, and small, so why not try it out?

The lens works great and I can get some really good pictures with it. It does feel cheaper than the canon brand version and some of the parts sound loose on the inside so I try not to shake it too much while moving it. But overall, its exactly what I expected for the price I paid for it. It might not be the best for more experienced users but I am satisfied with my purchase.

I liked that it captured the subject in full frame, however, it was not good with attracting light. So I had to put my ISO very high.

My Nikon camera came with the typical lense but I was looking to get another one for more professional looking pictures. A friend recommended looking into Adorama.com, so I did some research and this lense had great reviews and it was a very reasonable price. I was a little nervous going with a less known brand but it fits perfect on my camera and I'm loving it so far. I am still getting used to the no zoom, but that's the only draw back. I definitely recommend this lense!

Works as expected this is a G format lens so no aperture ring, great quality, sharp all the way down. I use it at f/1.8 all the time, quick focus, easy manual, quiet. My only detraction is I bought this new, and now between the elements micro particles can be seen. Not present in the pictures, just under light, looking into the lens.

It works perfectly in manual focus with my Nikon D5300, the automatic focus is not great but it can be useful sometimes. I use the lens just for filming and there is a huge difference between kit lens and this 50mm super cheap lens!

I used this lens a couple of times then the aperture stopped working as it was stuck on f1.8. Since it sat in my bag for several months it was passed the warranty period so in to the trash it went.

If you're looking to get this lens on a budget then this particular brand is good for the price. After reading up on some reviews I was worried the sharpness of the photos would be compromised with the cheaper brand. Its perfectly capable of taking sharp images, but of course the Nikon and Canon brands are just a little bit more crisp. But overall great quality for the price.

An absolutely wonderful lens, especially for those who are just getting into photography and are on a budget. The only slight negative is the build quality definitely feels a little bit on the cheap side but then again it is a cheap lense so that's just what you get.

I have read a number of bad reviews on this lens, and honestly, I'm just not seeing the claimed issues. Yes, it's a plastic bodied lens. Yes, it's cheap. I'm not a skilled enough photographer to be comfortable purchasing the Canon 50mm 1.2L lens or even the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens Bang for the buck, this lens works well for getting my skills up to par as a photographer. I'll invest in better lenses when my skills are improved and use this lens with my crop sensor camera when I do.

So glad to add this Nifty Fifty to my collection. Wonderful, llightweight lens with amazing clarity. This thing is tack sharp. And what an incredible value. Highly recommend this, esp. for beginning photographers who are learning light/aperture.
