Perfect fit for my Celestron 8SE. Great Jupiter viewing. Nice wide view. Unit feels very well made - nice heft to it.

Excellent add-on for the Hyperion Zoom eyepiece. Under the right seeing conditions it makes Saturn?s rings much more visible, and we even saw color from the surface of Jupiter on first light. Very happy with the purchase and definitely recommend it!

Excellent when married up to the Baader Hyperion Mark IV 8-24mm Zoom! What a pairing!

Sharp, complements the Baader Hyperion Zoom eyepiece well. Comes with plenty of adapters to suit it to other eyepiece-scope configurations.

It's bigger and heavier than I anticipated, but makes for excellent viewing.

Lens clarity was less than expected for price. Wide field of view was as described. It’s a rather heavy lens. I did not need a counter balance, but just a word of caution. Using with a 700mm/60mm telescope. Can see Jupiter and moons but not level of detail I’d like. I haven’t used it to see the moon yet. New moon or overcast.

I am an experienced amateur astronomer and I am currently converting my primary eyepiece set over to Baader Hyperions. These eyepieces provide a clear, wide field of view that rivals more expensive brands such as Televue. The only feature I don't like it the eyepiece guard which is separate rubber ring and is not incorporated into eyepiece casing.

For astronomy enthusiasts and astrophotographers seeking superior optical performance, the Baader Planetarium 36mm Hyperion Aspheric 72-degree Modular Eyepiece stands as a groundbreaking product. As one of the first eyepieces globally to incorporate innovative aspheric surfaces, this high-quality eyepiece effectively eliminates aberrations without the need for extra lens elements, avoiding unnecessary bulk and weight.
The durable and reliable Baader Planetarium eyepiece boasts a unique design, utilizing 2" x 24 tpi SCT threads for attaching the 2" barrel. This innovative feature allows the Hyperion Aspheric eyepiece to thread directly onto the rear cell of popular Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes (SCTs), resulting in unparalleled rigidity, which is crucial for high-precision imaging.
This versatile eyepiece comes with two barrel sizes, each designed to maximize your viewing experience. The standard 2" barrel delivers a full 72-degree field of view, immersing you in the celestial spectacle. Meanwhile, a specially designed wide field 1-1/4" barrel offers the maximum true field in this barrel size, with a field stop of 1.265" (32mm). This feature is perfect for extracting every bit of field possible in 1.25" focusers or bino-viewers, making it an ideal choice for observing large areas of the sky or capturing stunning astrophotography.
In summary, the 36mm Hyperion Aspheric Eyepiece for 2" and 1.25" Focusers from Baader Planetarium is a testament to the brand's commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality optical products for astronomy and scientific applications.
