Are you seeking a solution to enhance your astronomical viewing experience  The Baader Planetarium FFK-1 Fringe-Killer Filter, a high-quality, durable, and innovative product, is designed to provide the brightest image among all color-correcting filters available today. This effective filter is engineered to minimize unwanted blue fringing, similar to a Minus-Violet-Filter, while maintaining a pleasing color balance. This user-friendly filter employs modern DWDM plasma-assisted coating technology, which allows almost a hundred coating layers to be accumulated onto a planoptically polished substrate. This intricate process ensures the optical figure remains undisturbed, resulting in a clearer and sharper image. The Fringe-Killer Filter is an essential tool for small refractors to achieve the magnification as advertised. Its performance rivals that of the most expensive color correcting lens systems, thanks to its complex coating, which requires nearly 50 layers per side, using the latest DWDM Plasma assisted coating process. The Fringe Killer is an ideal companion to the Baader Contrast Booster, an aggressive filter designed to deliver maximum sharpness and contrast from an achromat. The result is a complete removal of the violet haze, albeit with a slightly dimmer and yellowier image. The Contrast Booster also incorporates additional RGB filtration for further enhancing color contrasts. Its high transmission and fringe reduction capabilities are ideal for both planetary and deep sky imaging. Baader has also integrated their renowned UV/IR Cut coatings as part of the Fringe Killer formula. These coatings maintain very high transmission, with well-placed sharp cutoffs in the IR and UV, making the Fringe-Killer Filter a must-have tool for any serious astronomer or photography enthusiast.
