With the 100mm AstroSolar Binocular Filter from the reputable Baader Planetarium, you can safely observe and capture stunning images of the sun. This high-quality, durable filter features Baader's AstroSolar Safety Film OD 5.0, renowned for its diffraction-limited optical quality. Unlike many ready-made filters, the AstroSolar film is mounted stress-free, ensuring it performs like a high precision plane optical window, essential for high magnification work.
This innovative filter is cell-mounted and meticulously inspected by skilled staff members, ensuring the highest quality. It features a clear white IR-rejecting front ring with reinforcing raised edges, designed to protect the solar filter material from contact with any sharp metal edge. The filter is designed for easy, no-tool mounting, with adjustable centering bolts to fit a wide variety of mechanical tube diameters.
The filter also includes non-rotating sliding fasteners made from aluminum, equipped with a machined indicator to point towards the adjustment index. Additional Phillips screws are integrated into the sliding fasteners, allowing the centering bolts to be firmly fastened with a screwdriver if preferred by the user. An index scale is provided beside each adjustment slot for fast and repeatable adjustment of the filter cell onto different telescope tubes.
For added safety, the filter includes three security straps to secure the position of the filter cell with Velcro-adhesive pads, ensuring a secure fit in front of the telescope under any circumstances. The filter also comes with a warning text printed onto the front side of each filter cell, reminding users to read the instructions before use.
The AstroSolar Binocular Filter is ideally suited for observation of the sun with binoculars, as well as for camera lenses. The filter material is mounted onto a plastic ring which works as a stabilizing element for the filter cell. This plastic ring is mounted onto the aluminum front frame, ensuring a similar thermal expansion coefficient for the plastic and the film.
This filter is designed for use with all types of binoculars and camera lenses, providing safe solar observation and photography. The filter cell is shortened on one side for use with binoculars, and two filters are mandatory for binocular observation. Each ASBF Filter comes with three centering bolts of 13mm diameter and 24 mm height, adjustable to the tube diameter of your binocular. In addition, three safety straps with glue-pads and mounting instructions are included.
